The h.Club100 2015 In partnership with the Creative Industries Council Celebrating the 100 most innovative entrepreneurs across the UK’s creative industries The Hospital Club h.Club 100 Campaign, in partnership with the Creative Industries Council, launches with the opening of public nominations on Monday 18th May 2015. Now in its seventh year, the h.Club 100 is the Hospital Club’s annual search for the most innovative, influential entrepreneurs working across the UK’s creative industries. The awards comprise ten categories with ten winners in each: Advertising, Marketing and PR Art and Design Broadcast Gaming Fashion Film Music Publishing and Writing Theatre and Performance Rising Stars (under 25s) New this year are two special prizes; the UKTI award - for success internationally and the Creative Industries Council Award – for cross-industry collaboration. The process by which the h.Club 100 is determined is as follows: Public nominations open Monday 18th May for 6 weeks (until 28/06/15) o Nominees must be UK based o Self-nomination and multiple nominations are encouraged o Nominate at www.thehospitalclub.com/100 Judging days take place throughout July o Panels of industry experts for each category meet to review public nominations o Judges select 9 winners per category o Judges create a short list for the public vote Public vote opens Tuesday 1st September for 2 weeks (until 14/09/15) o The public vote determines the 10th and final winner in each category The h.Club 100 Awards take place on Thursday 1st October 2015 at The Hospital Club Studios. The h.Club Foundation’s Charity Award: The h.Club Foundation was created in 2014 and focuses on supporting and partnering with organisations and programmes using the creative arts to engage and inspire communities across London in order to make a positive impact. This year at the h.Club 100 Awards Show, ‘The h.Club Foundation’s Charity Award’ will be presented for the first time. The award seeks to recognise charities and social enterprises that have made an outstanding contribution to supporting youth employment and education projects in the creative industries over the past year. NOTES TO EDITORS THE HOSPITAL CLUB is a unique hub in the heart of London, offering the members of the creative industries the environment and facilities it needs to Create, Connect and Collaborate. As part of London’s creative community, its role is to discover and host the best creative talent, and produce, publish and celebrate their work. The Club opened fifteen new luxury bedrooms in early 2015. The Hospital Club’s own creative initiatives are extensive. In addition to a diverse and comprehensive member facilities and event program, the Hospital Club is home to the awardwinning Hospital Club Events Company, producing high-end private and corporate events of all sizes, at 24 Endell Street and also externally (the British Fashion Council, Sky, EE, PZ Cussons, Media Math, Studio Canal+). The Hospital Club Studio is London’s most central and luxuriously appointed TV production facility (which regularly hosts WATCHDOG (BBC), THE AGENDA (ITV) and THE MERCURY PRIZE SESSIONS (C4) as well as clients including Disney, MTV and BBC Comedy. The Hospital Club Gallery hosts up to five public art exhibitions each year, with emphasis on supporting emerging artists and digital art. Canadian photographic artist Jessica Eaton’s debut solo London show garnered national critical acclaim when it ran in January 2014. The h.Club Foundation was newly established in 2014 to administer charitable support to emerging artists and young people in Camden, as well as to select charities. The Club’s annual h.Club100 awards celebrate the one hundred most innovative and inspiring individuals currently working across ten creative industry categories. The Hospital Club’s annual Sustainability Week takes place in November and welcomes leaders from across the business world to discuss different key topics each day ranging from Food & Oceans, Consumption and the Media Debate to Fashion & Sex. 2013 speakers included Peter Mather (BP Europe), Celia Gregory (The Marine Foundation), Adam Elman (Plan A, Marks&Spencer), Tim Lindsay (D&AD), Dax Lovegrove (WWF), Tamsin Lejeune (The Ethical Fashion Forum) and Sam Roddick (Coco de Mer). Set up to be a voice for creative industries, the council focus on areas where there are barriers to growth facing the sector, such as access to finance, skills, export markets, regulation, intellectual property (IP) and infrastructure.
