To make sure the animals are healthy and getting the best care possible. How? By taking the height and weight of thousands of animals and entering the information into a database Summary 1: In September 2014, zookeepers at the London Zoo completed annual check-ups on all of their animals to ensure the animals are healthy and getting the best care possible. Summary 2: Zoo animals are getting weighed and measured annually at the London Zoo to compare with other animals. Summary 3: In September 2014, the London Zoo found a wild weigh-in. Wrote and published a book, One Special Rhino: The Story of Andatu, that tells the story of young rhino’s life and plight for survival When? Spring 2014 Where? Brooklyn, New York Why? After hearing about the story of an endangered Sumatran Rhinoceros, Andatu, they wanted to raise money to be donated to help care for Andatu, as well as other endangered rhinos. How? None Summary 1: Fifth-graders are encouraging others to help save rhinos in a sanctuary in Indonesia in 2012. Summary 2: Fifth-grade students published a great book to save rhinos from poachers. Summary 3: Sadly, rhinos are an endangered species because poachers are killing them for their horns. Summary 4: In the spring of 2014, after hearing about the story of an endangered rhinoceros, Andatu, fifth-grade students from P.S. 107 in Brooklyn, New York published a book to help raise money for Andatu and other endangered rhinos.
