Dear Players and Parents:
The baseball staff at Pipestone Area would like to invite your son to join the Arrow baseball
team. There will be a meeting at 3:20 on Tuesday, March 4th The meeting will be in Mr.
Horejsi’s room, 2164.
The 7th grade coach is Mr. Horejsi and the 8th grade coach is Mr. Sterud. Practice the first week
will be on Monday March 10, Tuesday March 11, and Wednesday March 12. Practice will begin
at 3:30 and conclude by 5:00.
The coaching staff believes in allowing athletes to try new positions including pitching and
catching. We want your child to learn the game of baseball, be a good teammate, learn to
compete, and be coachable. The school season is short but 20+ games are usually played with
most of those being doubleheaders.
The fee to play is $30.00. (Payable to Carol Rudie in the Superintendent’s office.) Other costs
include a t-shirt and hat. The hat will cost $20 and the jersey $15. This can be paid before April
1st. Also, metal spikes may be worn. Football cleats will work just fine if those still fit. Please
have your son bring outside practice clothes. Many days (if the weather is tolerable) they will
be outside playing catch or doing other drills on the tennis courts, parking lots, or any other dry
surface.
Also, soon there will be an order form for purchasing other Pipestone Baseball apparel. These
items (along with hats) can be purchased for all family members, grandparents, etc. Please
return order form to Mr. Zollner on or before March 18.
