Meeting Notes and Questions (Continued)

Baseball Report Coach Henley: Coach spoke on various areas of the program, setting proper expectations for the parents and players. He mentioned paperwork, schedules, the Diamond

Club, and also a big Thank You to all. He also touched on tryouts and stated that they are always tough and do not always make everyone happy. He addressed assumptions on he not “liking” football players one year, basketball players another etc….. He does take these cuts very seriously and they are not always “perfect”. He must take what is best for the baseball program. Building “Character along with winning” is always the goal of the program.

Coach Henley reviewed the rules and regulations of the

Baseball program. Coach stated and reminded parents that,

“playing time is a COACH/PLAYER issue not a PARENT/COACH issue and should be handled as such. This is part of the

“character” building process for each young man.

He also mentioned that parents should never put their interest ahead of the child’s.

Baseball Bats: Coach Henley took time to discuss the new baseball bat regulations and how they fit into the overall plan of the program. He made some suggestions on ways to save money on bat purchases. Seems there is a inconsistent standard being implemented by CIF right now and it could prove to be costly to parents if we’re not careful.

Coach finished off by thanking everyone again and looks forward to a great year.

Steve Regis: Steve asked if anyone would be willing to be the

JV representative.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05pm.
