Matters Arising
Committee Membership
Carol has conducted the membership audit. Ailsa has stepped down from role
of Secretary and Sandra Birse has joined the committee. Marjory will take up
the role of Rep to Council. Carol will contact Sean and update him and also
feels it would be useful to recruit another one or two members. Tanya will ask
Neil Paterson if he is interested in re-joining. Actions: Carol, Tanya
Mark has now disconnected the Twitter account.
Proposed Schedule of Meetings
The planned e-mail meeting did not take place but we were in contact to plan
the Social Event at Central Library.
The AGM is due in November. Carol is going to check with Sean about the
numbers required for a quorum and will also check the constitution. Action:
Carol.
3D Printer / Dementia Library Event at Dundee Central Library
This took place on Thursday 13th August 2015, 6.00pm – 7.30pm and was well
attended and a great success. In particular the committee would like to thank
Alistair Wilson for demonstrating the 3D Printer. Tanya will send Alistair an email thank you on everyone’s behalf. Action: Tanya
Future Events
In the longer term we are still interested in setting up a “Meet the President”
Event at Richard’s library in Perth.
Carol has material prepared for another Quiz Night, provisionally planned for
Thursday 28th January. This time we would broaden out participants to friends
and colleagues. Carol suggested we all look in to possible venues (with parking
and accessible via public transport) and let her know. Action: All.
CILIPS Conference, Apex Dundee, 1st & 2nd June 2015
Maureen had the opportunity to attend this event.
Promotional Flier
Carol now has the flier (some logos may require amendment) and can have
5 000 printed for £50.00. Maureen will investigate how much Winters charge
for a smaller number. In the meantime Carol will print some for the
forthcoming Registration & Chartership Event and the Autumn Gathering.
Actions: Carol, Maureen.
Agenda
1. Registration & Chartership Event, A K Bell Library Perth, 30th October
Mark and Marjory will be attending this event. Carol may go along as CILIPS
Tayside Representative as an opportunity to promote the committee and
forthcoming events. Action: Carol.
Tanya will be attending a Mentor Exchange of Information Event in Dundee
Central Library on Thursday 5th November and will distribute our flier and
promote our events then too. Action: Tanya.
2. Other Event Ideas
We discussed various possibilities for holding an author event. Marjory
recently attended an event in St. Andrews with Val McDermid and she made
the point that she is very supportive of libraries. Carol will pursue this and said
money would be available.
Training – Carol suggests asking Sean to e-mail all Tayside members asking
what they would like to see provided, a “What The Members Want” idea.
