All levels will play 2 singles and 3 doubles except for the 2.5 level, which will play 1 singles and 2 doubles. Each level has a regular day of play: 4.5-Monday, 4.0-Tuesday, 3.5-Wednesday, 3.0-Thursday, 2.5Friday. Some weeks may require that 2 matches be played. If so, extra matches would be played on Mondays and Fridays depending on the level. Levels with a large number of teams will be divided into flights using a random draw. Teams will play all teams in their level or flight in a round robin format. 55 & Over and 65 & Over Leagues: Possible levels of play include 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0. All levels will play 3 doubles positions. Each level will have a regular day of play to avoid conflict with other leagues (Suburban, 18 & Over, and 40 & Over). It’s possible that there would be more than 1 match some weeks of the season. If levels have a large number of teams, there might be more than 1 flight. The 55 & Over League includes teams that play both during the day and in the evening, so many matches will take place in the evening. Team Registration for 2016: League: Registration begins: Minimum # of players required: 18 & Over 40 & Over 55 & Over 65 & Over March 11 April 15 April 1 February 1 April 15 May 19 May 1 March 8 (at least 8, 5 for 2.5) (at least 8, 5 for 2.5) (at least 6) (at least 6) Players must be registered on TennisLink before participating in a match. Additions to your roster can be made at any time up until the second to last regularly scheduled local league match. Rosters may have a maximum of 20 players. League seasons: Weekday 65 & Over league play will begin in late March/early April and finish by the end of May. Weekday 55 & Over league play will begin in late May/early June and finish in late August. Weekday 18 & Over league play will begin in early to mid May and finish around the end of June. Weekday 40 & Over league play begins in late June/early July and finishes by early August. 2 Match times: All matches for the 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 65 & Over Leagues are scheduled to begin at 9:00am. The 55 & Over League includes both daytime and evening teams. When daytime teams play each other, the matches will begin at 9am if courts are available at the match site (or later if courts are taken by other league matches). Any match that involves an evening team will be played at 6 or 7:30pm. 2016 Postseason information: The number of teams attending Regionals is set in the Section rules. If we have more flight winners than can attend, statistics and a possible playoff match will determine which teams will be the attendees. See the full policy explanation on the league website. 2016 Regional Tournaments (formerly Districts): 18 & Over: July 8-10 (2.5, 3.5, 4.5 levels) July 22-24 (3.0 and 4.0 levels) 40 & Over: August 26-29 (all levels) 2016 Sectional Tournaments: 18 & Over: August 19-22 40 & Over: September 16-19 55 & Over: September 23-26 65 & Over: September 16-19 Information regarding the Regional and Sectional tournaments will be available a few weeks before each event on the Mid-Atlantic website. Grievance and Grievance Appeals Committees: In 2016, local grievances and grievance appeals will be handled by a committee comprised of a variety of coordinators from throughout the Mid-Atlantic Section. 3
