For Santa Clara County Districts District Business & Advisory Services Nimrat Johal: Director- DBAS: 408-453-6599 Cathy McKim, Manager-DBAS: 408-453-6588 Bulletin: 13-026 Date: September 11, 2012 To: District Fiscal Directors District Attendance Staff From: Jenina Salcedo, Advisor Re: Managing Information of Revenue Limits and Attendance Data (MIRADA) Training The purpose of this bulletin is to notify you of the rollout of our new web-based tool “Managing Information of Revenue Limits and Attendance Data,” or MIRADA. Effective this fiscal year 2012-13, District Business and Advisory Services (DBAS) is rolling out the Attendance function of MIRADA for district use. Technology Services Branch (TSB) and DBAS have been working diligently to develop MIRADA with the goal of simplifying data flow & streamlining Attendance & Revenue Limit Reporting for our districts. Instead of filling out Child Welfare Attendance (CWA) excel spreadsheets monthly and e-mailing them to DBAS staff, district staff will input attendance data directly into http://mirada.sccoe.org. MIRADA compiles the data into monthly reports & calculates average daily attendance (ADA) for period reporting purposes. Data is live & ADA is updated instantly when monthly data is revised. In 2011-12, six districts participated in the pilot group to test MIRADA Attendance and provided valuable feedback to make MIRADA user-friendly for our districts. For future use, DBAS and TSB are working to generate the .dat file for state reporting purposes and eventually add the Revenue Limit Reporting function. District Business Advisor, Jenina Salcedo, will be training district attendance staff on navigating MIRADA & entering data. Training will be held: Wednesday, October 10, 9:00am (registration starts 8:30) Santa Clara County Office of Education 1290 Ridder Park Drive San Jose, CA 95131 Education Technology Services (ETS) Lab, North Building, 2nd floor To register, click here: http://santaclara.k12oms.org/1041-64008 Registration is limited to one person per district. Login access will be created after registration is confirmed. If the date and time are not convenient or you need to setup group training for district staff, please work with Jenina to accommodate these needs: Jenina Salcedo (408) 453-6594 Jenina_Salcedo@sccoe.org Please distribute this memo within your District as deemed appropriate.
