Nursing at Cincinnati Children’s, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is actively seeking experienced RNs to join our team. Our Division is hosting an open house recruitment and education event specifically seeking RNs with at least one-year of professional nursing experience. We will offer a FREE 1 hour nursing contact hour to those who register online and attend this event in addition to the opportunity to interview for one of our open nursing positions. There is something special about the nurses at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center! You can see it in the respect they get. You can hear it in the compassionate way they speak up for and care about children and their families. From the moment they enter the room, their high energy and intelligence set them apart. They are professionals who excel in the stimulating environment of a top-3 children's hospital and research center. They are instrumental in developing best practices and are encouraged to continue their education and advance their careers. What's more, Cincinnati Children's has earned Magnet recognition − the gold standard for nursing excellence and collaboration among all care providers and patients. Organizations that earn Magnet recognition must demonstrate evidence of the 14 "forces of magnetism" − variables that create an environment that attracts and retains high-quality nurses and clinical staff − in both the documentation and a site visit. Only 5 percent of hospitals in the United States have earned Magnet status. A BSN or entry level MSN is highly preferred. Nurses must commit to obtaining a BSN within one year of hire date and completing within five years. Education assistance is available for employees working a minimum of a 0.5 FTE once the six month introductory period has been successfully completed. All nurses are hired to work 8 hour shifts and every other weekend. Nurses working off shifts receive a $4.00/hour shift differential and a $5.00/hour weekend differential ($9.00/hour additional for an off- shift weekend). All schedules are subject to change in order to meet departmental needs. Salaries are determined by the number of years of RN experience as compared to internal staff and range from $22.25/hour to $35.85/hour. Nurses may eventually consider application for clinical advancement with resulting promotional increase.
