Conflicts of Interests
Governors had been notified of the agenda prior to the meeting, and confirmed there
were no conflicts of interest.

Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence were received from Mrs T Boughen, Mrs D Davis, Mrs W Evans,
Mr N Hawkins, Mr B Johnson and Mr Joynson.
Mr I Oxley proposed these absences were consented to.
Seconded by Mrs B Semper.
Mr Cawthorne commented upon the reticence of governors to second, resulting in the
Chair’s request for a show of hands. The absences were consented to by a full show
of hands.

The Governors resolved to consent to the absences of Mrs T Boughen, Mrs D
Davis, Mrs W Evans, Mr N Hawkins, Mr B Johnson and Mr Joynson.

Minutes of the Meeting held on Tuesday 14th April 2015
Governors were asked to confirm they had received and read the draft copy of the
minutes from the meeting held on the Tuesday 14th April 2015. Corrections were
requested by the Chair.
Mr Henshaw requested a correction to the minutes presented as he considered a
section to be misleading. Referring to a section on page 4:
Data predicts low Year 7 intake numbers for the next two years, this year
we are 11 students lower than predicted numbers at a cost of £46K.
Mr Henshaw requested this section clearly indicate this was the cost for one year only,
and the actual cost to College would be over £200K, over 5 years. Governors noted
this additional information.
All Governors present confirmed the receipt of the minutes, and subject to the
correction requested above, these minutes should be signed as a correct record of the
meeting.
Mr I Oxley proposed that the minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 14th April 2015
be signed as a correct record. Mrs S Lewis seconded this proposal.

The Governors resolve that the minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 14th
April 2015 be signed as a correct record, subject to the additional information
noted above.

Matters Arising from the Minutes
Following on from his request at the previous meeting on the 14th April 2015, Mr Oxley
requested consideration be given to the proposer/seconder routine for items such as
accounts and or/budgets. Mr Oxley’s concern was the current method required the
resolution to be proposed and seconded by a member of a committee which had not
heard all of the details presented at the original committee meeting, suggesting that all
Governors should be able to hear all the details. Mr Cawthorne added the members
of the alternative committee had the opportunity to ask questions.
Governors agreed to an amendment to the meeting schedule to incorporate a separate
meeting for the accountant to present to all Governors.
