Buyer agrees to the following:
1. Under no circumstances will this cat or kitten be sold, leased or given away to any pet shop,
research laboratory, Humane Society, or similar facility. In the event that the owner can no longer
care for this cat, Connie McIver will be notified.
2. This Bengal will be kept indoors and not be allowed to roam freely outside.
3. If this cat or kitten is found to be neglected or mistreated, Buyer will surrender said cat or kitten to
Connie McIver, unconditionally.
4. This cat or kitten cannot be shown without the written permission of Connie McIver.
5. No cash refunds after the 72 hour guarantee period, however, we are willing to take back any
cat/kitten that we have sold at any time after the 72 hour guarantee period, with no refund. **Not
applicable to congenital defects as they are covered separately under our health guarantee.
6. This Bengal will NEVER be declawed, as the amputation procedure is a painful mutilation.
7. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the Buyer.
8. Proof of vaccination provided _______ Re-vaccination date ____________________
Our cats are vaccinated with killed vaccines only, and have never received Chlamydia, FIP or Feline
Leukemia vaccines. The administration of live or modified live vaccines of any type, and/or the
administration of the Chlamydia, FIP, or Feline Leukemia vaccines at any time will immediately and
permanently void all health guarantees. Initial kitten vaccinations are administered by our Veterinarian at
8 and 12 weeks of age. [Vaccinating any earlier is not effective as kittens are still nursing]
We follow Dr. Jean Dodds new Vaccination Protocol which has now been widely accepted by the
Veterinary community and advise one further booster vaccination at 16 weeks, and a final booster at
approximately one year and four months of age. Then there are no further vaccines for three years.
Rabies, of course is a separate issue and the protocol has not been revised for this vaccine, however we
do recommend a non-adjuvanted rabies vaccine as it has been shown to have the lowest tissue reaction
with a probable lower rate of vaccine induced sarcoma. Dr. Jean Dodds' Vaccination Protocol may be
found in its entirety at:

If a kitten is sold as a breeder prospect, it will also come with a five generation pedigree, health
guarantee, and the TICA registration application. The terms and conditions for these kittens or cats are
clearly outlined within the contract and health guarantee.
It is important that potential owners understand the activity level and type of personality our Bengals
possess. If you are looking for a lap cat, our Bengals are certainly great lap warmers, but they also
require a lot of exercise and interaction with their humans. Like all kittens, they are very curious, and feel
the need to explore everything in their environment. An older kitten or young adult could be considered if
one is looking for a less active Bengal. Since they are out of the boisterous kitten stage, they can be great
pets for someone who wants this breed of cat but would prefer not to go through the kitten stage.
Kitten Evaluation and Sales Information
We continually strive to produce only the best quality in our Bengals and are pleased to offer carefully
bred kittens to our discerning buyers. All of our Bengals are fully guaranteed and come complete with a
sales contract and health guarantee, current vaccinations, Vet check-up, spay/neuter, TICA registration
documents, and a five generation pedigree.
SILKENTHUNDER BENGALS HEALTH GUARANTEE:
Currently, our cattery has been screened, and we continue to test all incoming cats for Feline Leukemia
[FeLV], Feline Immunodeficiency Virus [FIV], and Tritrichomonas [TF]. Our cats have been screened for
Tritrichomonas using the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test – a sophisticated test that can detect the presence of
the genetic material of the organism. This is an extremely sensitive test that does not produce false negative results
which are commonly found when using the Pouchtm TF test. The PCR test must be done by a qualifed professional,
unlike the Pouchtm TF test, and since we prefer to have the most accurate results possible, we have had the tests
professionally administered by Dr. Jody Gookin's team in North Carolina where most of the studies on TF have
been done. We also screen all breeding age cats annually for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy [HCM] and any other
heart problems, as well as Polycystic Kidney Disease [PKD]. While we do realize that a cat may test negative for
HCM today and still come up positive on the next annual scan, we will continue to use the means we have available
now, while we wait for the genetic markers to be found.
This Bengal cat or kitten is guaranteed to be of sound health and temperament upon arrival, and is guaranteed for a
period of 72 hours from time of purchase, (arrival) IF Vet-checked within that time.
It is recommended that the new cat/kitten be in quarantine during this time, and if the Bengal is found to be medically
deficient with an untreatable or life-threatening problem within the 72 hour guarantee period, it must be reported to
Connie McIver immediately. Upon return of the cat, it will be replaced with another Bengal of equal value or the
purchase price will be refunded. If no replacement is available at the time, Connie McIver will have 6 months to
furnish a satisfactory replacement. All shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.
This Bengal is further guaranteed against genetic defects, unknown at time of sale until it reaches five (5) years of
age, while living with the original owner, and in accordance with the following criteria:
If a genetic defect is found to be directly responsible for the severe disability or death of this Bengal during the
first five years of life, the cat will be replaced when:
1) In the case of disability, this Bengal will be replaced only when a licensed Veterinarian certifies the cat’s quality of
life to be severely diminished due to a permanent disability which is the direct result of a genetic defect. A description
of the defect and relevant medical test results indicating the origin of the disability must be included in the disability
certification.
2) In the case of death, this Bengal will be replaced only when a licensed Veterinarian performs an appropriate postmortem and certifies the cause of death to be the direct result of the genetic defect.
This Bengal cat/kitten cannot be returned if it has been exposed to another cat that has not been currently tested
negative for Tritrichomonas [PCR test only], FELV and FIV. If the Bengal must be tested for Tritrichomonas, FELV
and FIV upon return, the costs will be deducted from any refund payable. It is the responsibility of the buyer to
provide immediate Veterinary care to any cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress and failure to do so will render
any guarantee null and void.
Under no circumstances is this Bengal to be destroyed without prior notification of Connie McIver.
All costs incurred for the treatment/diagnosis and certification of such conditions will be solely and completely the
buyer’s responsibility. All shipping costs for return or replacement of this Bengal for any reason are also the buyer’s
responsibility.
