DK DANCE VISIONS- CLASS EXPECTATIONSWe realize there are times a student will have to miss classes due to illness, bad weather, family death etc. The first part of the year is to learn steps and
get technique to perform them well in competitions and recital. Even if we have learned our work for the first part of the year, we need to perfect the steps
and get details cleaned up so we can do well during the 2nd half. We see the anxiety it causes students when they miss classes and come back to realize
they are behind. Unfortunately, we cannot re -teach each class for students who are missing- as we teach new things each week. If you are missing
class- try to learn what you missed from a fellow student. We have a lot of steps and routines to teach with only a certain amount of classes to teach it
in. How hard we work the first part of the year really shows up when we go on stage for the competitions and recital, and every dancer matters to our
groups. Generally all of our groups have done very well in competing and putting on a great recital.
REGARDING ABSENSES:
Students missing classes effects the whole group- as we cannot practice patterns, lines, partner work, or timing with each other when some are
missing. All the dancers in the group want to do well, and present themselves with confidence, style and well polished routines. At competitions we are
marked on how well the group works together. When we go on stage for competitions and recital- there is no one to fill in for missing dancers. We
always work on something new every week or clean up technique, patterns, and partner work needed to perfect our routines. We want to keep moving
forward in a positive direction. We want all the dancers to be able to be part of the group in competitions and recital.

we start with #1 and run thru each number once on the stage- you may leave after your last number.
Regarding- Pre Dress Rehearsal- Last year the pre dress rehearsal was very loud- it was difficult to run in an orderly fashion- only people who
need to be there for their young children are allowed to watch. We ask that everyone remains seated and quiet during the rehearsal- all students
also need to remain seated until called up to the stage.
Dress Rehearsal-Uniplex- Friday May 6th -Full Costumes -Hair and make-up done.
ALL DANCERS MUST ATTEND THE PRE DRESS AND DRESS REHEARSALS- it should run from 5-8 approx.
NO AUDIENCE ALLOWED FOR THE DRESS REHEARSAL-ALL PARENTS WILL BE NEEDED AT THE DRESS REHEARSAL.
Parents will be assigned areas to help out in- you will receive this information before tickets go on sale. You will be able to watch the recital
performance one day- and help the other day. Change Room moms are to bring each group backstage- watch their number and then take them
back to the change rooms. Back stage helpers will handle the back stage doors, props, etc. If you are assigned to flowers or decorating- you will
not be needed at Dress Rehearsal- but help is needed during the day of Dress Rehearsal 10-2- for decorating- We would appreciate any help we
can get for that morning/ afternoon. Thank-you in advance as we could not run a performance like this without everyone's co-operation.
Recital Dates:
- SATURDAY NIGHT May 7th @ 7:00pm
- Sunday afternoon- May 8th @ 2pm.
