next generation BASYS LED II 2.75” downlight family extension
Zumtobel has expanded its successful BASYS LED product range. The extension includes
luminaires for downlight, wallwasher and adjustable applications and introduces the
patented tiltShift technology. The BASYS LED II 2.75” offering provides a broad range of
distributions, illuminance levels and finishes to achieve best light quality with a sleek,
minimalist appearance. Available in both square and round versions with 45 and 55 degree
cut-off, BASYS LED II features a color rendering index range of up to Ra 90+.
Highland, New York, August 2015 – Zumtobel introduces the newest member of its signature
downlight and wallwasher series. BASYS LED II 2.75” is a welcome addition to the popular 4” and
6” apertures and provides a broad range of options to meet the versatility and the demands of
architectural lighting environments. Consisting of square and round recessed downlights and
wallwashers, the product family provides efficient, flexible and precise illumination and is perfect for
damp location applications. One of the ground breaking highlights in the BASYS LED II range is
the adjustable version with the patented tiltShift technology. This new technology answers a known
problem with adjustable recessed luminaires – as the light source is tilted part of the beam will be
blocked by the reflector. This alters the beam and reduces the luminous flux, also creating
unpleasant flash on the reflector surface. The Zumtobel tiltShift technology solves this issue. While
the luminaire can be tilted between 0 to 40 degrees, it simultaneously shifts dependent on the
angle so that the beam remains in the center of the aperture. So even if the angle of the beam
changes, the level of beam and light quality, as well as appearance, remains constant. Additionally,
BASYS LED II 2.75’’ with tiltShift technology allows for rotation up to 360 degrees. The
combination of these features enhances the light quality and provides superior adaptability in the
built environment.
BAYSY LED II 2.75” Round and Square Wallwasher and Downlight:
The luminaires for downlight and wallwash applications provide a broad range of distributions, trims
and finishes while delivering up to 1200 lumens. Ideal for achieving high illuminance levels or a
sleek, minimalistic and unobtrusive appearance, choose from the 45 degree cut-off for optimal
glare control or the 55 degree cut-off for higher efficacy. Standard reflector surface finishes are
clear specular, clear semi-specular, matte, white matte and custom colors can be accommodated.
The luminaires are available in various color temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K). In
standard flange, flangeless and TechZone 6” trim, they are perfect for offices, foyers, hallways,
conference rooms and social areas.

BASYS LED II with tiltShift technology enables never seen before adaptability, combined with
uncompromised quality in light distribution. The luminaire offers a broad range of distributions,
outputs and finishes for any application where precise beam angles and accurate focusing are
required. Reflector finishes are available in clear specular, clear semi-specular, matte and white
matte. The luminaire comes in various color temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K). The
tiltShift technology and the rotation mechanism are lockable and the luminaire is ready for hot
aiming. All technologies and variations combined make BASYS LED II adjustable the most
adaptable downlight Zumtobel ever introduced. With the benefit of four beam spreads (10°, 24°,
38° and 60°) for every available lumen output (850lm – 1700lm), the BASYS LED II 2.75”
adjustable is the obvious choice for shops, foyers, hallways and any other application where
adaptable and accurate light distribution and best light quality is required.
New UL Certified Driver-Housing Design:
Adding to the overall efficiency, the new design of a dedicated driver-housing allows as an option
to ship the luminaire-housing prior to the shipping of the luminaire and driver. Having the capability
to install the housing and complete the electrical wiring initially prevents damage or loss of the
reflector, the luminaire and driver on the job site. The luminaire and driver are shipped following
housing installation and simply gets passed through the housing aperture and connected to electric
supply via a quick connect mechanism. This unique feature makes for efficient installation and
ease of maintenance. To maintain, the luminaire and driver simply gets passed through the
aperture for quick removal and can easily be maintained outside of the housing. This is especially
helpful in an inaccessible ceiling situation.
