Public History Minor
Public history is a fast growing field with jobs in the government, non-profit, civil service, and education
sectors. The National Council on Public History notes that jobs include those such as “historical consultants,
museum professionals, government historians, archivists, oral historians, cultural resource managers,
curators, film and media producers, historical interpreters, historic preservationists, policy advisers, local
historians, and community activists” among others. Our program equips students with the historical
knowledge, the skills, and offers hands on experience to prepare students to pursue their area of interests or
prepare them for post-graduate study in public history if desired.
