Tribal Health Center Job Descriptions Position Title: Department: Supervisor: Status: FLSA: Physician Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center Medical Director Regular, full-time; Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Some varied hours due to training or events. Exempt Position Summary: The Physician performs primary outpatient family & pediatric medical care services within the scope of his/her license and training to include obtaining patient information, diagnosing, developing appropriate treatment plan, monitoring patient compliance, and assisting patient in understanding their disease process. Provides services consistent with the stated goals of assisting community members maintain or increase their level of health by various medical practices or routines. Duties: Interview patients and family members and consults appropriate medical specialists, and other staff members to determine and evaluate the kind of health and physical care required. Reviews and interprets findings to distinguish between normal and abnormal condition during patient screening including diagnosing, and monitoring of patient compliance. Carries out treatment and emergencies or other procedures required, administer medications, observe and document patient’s conditions, changes reactions to medications and medical treatment. Provides guidance and counseling to patients and families on prevention, curative and rehabilitative measure involving health care. Maintain records and reports on patients, program activities, and other related information. Write medical prescriptions for patient who need them and refers patients who need assistance to specialists. Will participate in appropriate medical and administrative committees, assist with preparing and maintaining accreditation. Assist in medical audits and peer review as needed. Ability to communicate successfully in English both verbally and in writing; with moderate to advanced computer skills. Assures patient satisfaction, quality of care, and adequate patient production as measured by number of patient complaints, medical audits, and number of patient visits. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Medical Degree or Degree in Osteopathy. Preferably specializing in Pediatrics or Family Medicine, and a current license to practice as a M.D. or D.O. in the State of Nevada. Prefer M.D.s or D.O.s with a minimum of two years of experience in a pediatric outpatient clinic, family practice, or primary care setting. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and carry out patient care activities in a clinical setting. Able to work effectively with individuals and/or families to assist them in satisfactory solution(s) to health relationships with others. Position Title: Department: Supervisor: Status: FLSA: Clinical Psychologist Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center Behavioral Health Manager Regular, Full-time; Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Exempt Position Summary: The Clinical Psychologist provides a full range of psychological services including evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, referral, psychometric assessment and interpretation, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and specialized treatment modalities for children, adolescents, adults, and families. The Clinical Psychologist will provide case-oriented and program-oriented consultation in weekly and monthly team meetings to staff, tribal organizations, and community agencies. Refers and coordinates mental health services with outside agencies to ensure appropriate referrals, follow-up and continuity of care for patients served by the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Interviews and performs comprehensive Bio-psychosocial and cultural beliefs assessments of patients, performs psychological evaluations; select and administer appropriate psychological tests, interprets results, provides counseling, psycho-diagnosis, and psychotherapy for individuals, marriages, families, and pain management. Provides direct and referral services to patients with acute, chronic or severe mental illness. Provides highly skilled clinical psychological services to patients with difficult and complex relationships, which involves the application of psychological principles, theories, methods, and techniques to the solution of problems. Develops consultative services for children, adolescents, and adults for therapy with appropriate medical specialists, and other allied health professional to determine and evaluate the kind of treatment plan required. Monitor, follow, accept, and refer patients who need assistance with their psychotropic medications to Psychiatrist(s). Prepare and provide written reports on patients which include clinical impressions and diagnostic classification Carries out treatment, responds to emergencies, observes and document patient’s conditions, changes and treatment Provides group psycho-education on various behavioral health wellness topics, including, but not limited to, diabetes, pain, depression, anxiety, historical trauma, etc. Completes and maintains accurate and timely clinical records using the S.O.A.P. format via Electronic Health Records and/or NEXTGEN or the Patient Care Component (PCC) forms, and super bills as manual back up when EHR is inoperable, whichever software program approved by Indian Health Services or Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Clinic, and reports on patients, program activities, and other related information. As allied professional, serves as a consultant to the medical staff and is assigned clinical privileges and may work under the limited standing order from the medical director(s) or psychiatrist(s). Serves as a consultant for weekly case management meetings providing recommendations and suggestions to the treatment team on the problems arising in the course of treatment with patients. Provides consultative and advisory services to the Behavioral Health Division Manager and Supervisor, medical and nursing staffs; and other regarding behavioral health matters by providing professional information on definition and application of psychological principles, theories, and methods to individuals situation and problems; Assists with development of yearly and strategic health plans regarding behavioral health program objectives and professional practices as needed. Participates in appropriate medical and behavioral health related committees; assist with preparing and maintaining accreditation through peer reviews and evaluate work of the other behavioral health staff to support and enhance timely performance and adequate quantity and quality of work. Assures patient satisfaction, quality of care, and adequate patient production as measured by number of patient complaints, medical audits, and number of patient visits. Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology preferably specializing in providing services for children. Must have a current unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist in the State of Nevada Prefer a minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient clinic environment. Prefer some knowledge of the cultural, social and economic backgrounds of the Native American population Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively communicate both to various individuals, cultures and groups Ability to motivate and work effectively with supervisors, subordinates, other health care providers, families and community members.
