November 2015 Dear BB&N Families, Greetings from the Athletic Office! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Fall! It has been a pleasure getting to know the community and I am looking forward to another great season with all of you. I wanted to reach out to put some things on your radar in regards to athletics as the winter season is quickly approaching. General Middle and Upper School Reminders 1. The Athletic Section of the Community Directory and Student Handbook is available by visiting www.bbns.org and is a tremendous resource for all school athletic questions (i.e., philosophy, campus programs/ requirements, phone directory and waivers). 2. The athletic section of the web page is the most efficient way to get up-to-date game/practice schedules, directions, cancellations, updates and daily notes. 3. There is an ALERT tab on each team page on the website. Please sign up online in order to receive alerts in regards to game day changes. Directions on how to do this are on the athletics website under announcements. 4. The first two days of Middle School athletics will be on, Monday November 23rd and Tuesday November 24th from 2:15pm-3:45pm. The student-athletes will meet coaches and start practice. The rest of the week is off from sports. 5. All winter season Waiver request forms (available online or in the Athletic Office) must be submitted no later then Friday, November 13th. All Upper School request should go to Mr. Andre and all Middle School request should go to Gus Means. All Upper School student-athletes must complete the following required steps before participating in the Winter 2015-2016 season: 1. Updated Physical (Within 13 months) turned into Campus Nurse. 2. Online Health Form- (submitted this fall). 3. Online PPE submitted by parent/guardian (PPE is Pre-participation athletic health form completed EACH season) 4. Online Heads Up Concussion Training (A link is emailed with PPE instructionsOnly done once yearly). 5. Baseline Impact Test is required of Grades 7, 9, and 11, plus all new grade 8 & 10 students. Upper School IMPACT (concussion) Testing, Monday November 16th and Tuesday November 17th 3:30-5:30pm is only for students in grades 9,11 and new 10’s who did NOT take it in the fall. The program will begin the first week in December and go through the winter season until the end of February.
