This competition began ten years ago, bringing together young mathematicians, to test and hone their mathematical abilities and skills against their peers, locally and internationally. I am very happy and proud to say that it never disappoints in the quality and calibre of the contestants, the competition and the organisation. And so we can all again look forward to it this year with anticipation and excitement. SASMO continues to grow in Indonesia. It has been very popular among students and teachers in schools all over the country. I understand that there were over 1,200 students taking part last year, a new record for the country. It is fitting, therefore, that I thank the Executive Director of SASMO Singapore headquarters, Mr Henry Ong, for his effort in making this prestigious international mathematics competition possible. I am also very aware of how much effort it takes to prepare and bring students to the competition, and I would like to acknowledge the commitment of the teachers and the support of so many schools in giving this opportunity to their students. An exciting news will be announced shortly. SASMO is developing Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) which will offer representative teams from across Asia, including Indonesia of course, a mathematics weekend competition in Singapore. First edition of SIMOC is planned to be in July 2015. If any teachers would like to consider this, please contact me: note4roy@gmail.com. It would be remiss of me I think, if I were not to acknowledge in my welcome the partner/host schools in which our participants will be sitting for the test. I have no doubt that you are continuing the tradition of hospitality and friendliness for which our country is renowned. In a sense you are also ambassadors to your schools, and I feel confident that our participants will take back to their respective schools happy experiences and memories. It is my very great honour to welcome you all once again to Singapore and Asian Schools Maths Olympiad (SASMO) 2015 Indonesia. My best wishes to all participants. May this be good competition, and also, a good learning experience for all of you. Best regards, Roy Lo SASMO Indonesia, Country Director ABOUT SASMO 2015 will mark the 10th anniversary of SASMO!
