Hawks Nest Basketball Committee Overview

The Hawks Nest Basketball Committee (HNBC) is a sub-committee of the Hawks Nest with an emphasis on Men’s and Women’s Basketball. The sole responsibility of the HNBC is to create the best possible atmosphere in Carver Hawkeye Arena. Our student section has a lot of room to improve and we are looking for innovative people who are passionate about the Hawkeyes and the game day experience.

What is expected to come from the HNBC?

The members of the HNBC will meet with the Hawks Nest Basketball Director and maybe the Hawks

Nest Executive Board to discuss possible changes or new ideas to be implemented to the student section or Carver Hawkeye Arena. The HNBC will create a plan for home Men’s and Women’s Basketball games, ranging from theme nights to cheers and more.

The HNBC is given free rein to use their imagination, their powers are not limited to what is in this application. The Hawks Nest is treating the HNBC as an independent organization, and while they are expected to accomplish their job in a timely matter, the results are at the will of the HNBC.

Possible duties/time commitments

Helping create the game day reports and passing the reports to students before each game

Supervise student props (i.e. posters, costumes, etc.)

Create and coordinate cheers during basketball games to the student section

Assist with basketball bus trips

Potentially meet once per week or once every other week to brainstorm new ideas/talk over what could be done differently

Market the student organization, Hawks Nest
