Fly Swatter Game: divide students into two groups and let students hit the picture of the animal said in Chinese Once Only! The winner can get stickers. 4. Image Finding: give each student a bag of animal images and they have to show the pin yin side of the picture during the first round. During the second round, students are required to show image side as fast as possible. 5. Match Images with correct pin yin. 6. Dialogue practice Step 3—Learning Plan Learning activities - Answer’s the question, how do I teach it? Step 1. Warming-up: show students a short video about the story of Chinese zodiac animals. Step 6. give students the handout about the explanation of what their Chinese zodiac animal is. And let’s try the dialogue: what’s your Chinese Zodiac animal is? Step 4—Reflection What happened during my lesson? What did my students learn? How do I know? What did I learn? How will I improve my lesson next time? Students are doing a good job by playing the fly swatter game because they remember the animals’ names very fast and they are interested to know about what their zodiac animal is. I should give students more time to memorize the pin yin. Adapted from Tomlinson and McTighe, Integrating Differentiated Instruction + Understanding by Design, ASCD,
