Nomination Process
The club must fill in one nomination form, and attach a separate written submission for each award
it wishes to be nominated for. Each submission should be no longer than one side of A4. It should
include the name of the club and award category. It should outline the Club’s areas of achievement
specific to that award category. This could include (but is not limited to);
 the number of relevant events attended or held
 a written explanation of why the person or club should receive this award
 the numbers attending or affected by the event or activity (members compared to non‐
members if you think this is relevant)
 positive feedback from any relevant host or spectator of the activity, etc
 any other relevant facts and figures you can conjure up.
You can also attach any other relevant evidence, like photos, flyers, website links; anything that
supports your nomination, basically.
The submission should also briefly outline how this event or activity:
 Helped improve the student experience at the University of Canterbury, and
 Helped improve the Club, the UCSA and the University of Canterbury’s reputation.
The purpose of this submission is to give you the opportunity to outline why you feel that you
deserve to win this category. You need to be as convincing as possible. Your nomination form,
written submission(s) and other evidence MUST BE HANDED INTO UCSA RECEPTION BEFORE THE
CLOSING DATE OF THURSDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, 4pm.
Other Judging Criteria:
Review Panel
A UCSA created review panel will consider the club’s submission and a review from an independent
UCSA appointed reviewer who will have attended event/s. The panel will rank the club for their
performance in each nominated area.
The review panel will also use its discretion to evaluate the importance of the Club’s or individual’s
contribution for the nominated area, looking at:
a) How the Club’s or individual’s actions enhanced the student experience at the University
of Canterbury, and
b) How the Club’s or individual’s actions enhanced the reputation of the Club or individual,
the UCSA and the UC.
The panel will make the final decision on the award winner in each award category.
