Back 10.00 – 10.30 Changing the learning landscape (Elaine Swift) This session will highlight the work that has been happening around the institution with the Changing the Learning Landscape programme. The programme has been helping the university explore what digital literacy means as a core competence for staff and students, providing NTU with a distinctive opportunity to consolidate our focus on on-line learning and teaching with a strong underpinning in broader digital literacy skills. The session will provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on their own digital literacy skills and within to explore this within their curricula. Back 10.00 – 10.30 Equality and Diversity: Internationalisation (Susanna Dermody) NTU’s internationalisation strategy – what it means for you and your students and how NTU can support you’. Back 11.00 – 12.30 (Repeated at 14.45) Facilitated Structured: Sharing Practices – roles and responsibilities (Ann Meredith) This is an opportunity for you to bring issues, challenges and successes to share with colleagues in a facilitated workshop. The session will be facilitated by Ann Meredith and Course Leaders are invited to bring along their ‘hot topics’ for discussion. It may be that you have a particular success to share with colleagues or a concern about an area of responsibility that you would like to ask advice of other Course Leaders. The agenda will be set by the participants, with opportunities to identify where to find support for your work and identify opportunities for collaboration. Back 11.00 – 12.30 Considering a whole course approach to developing E-assessment (Carmen Tomas and Barry Gregory) This workshop considers CBA, CAA and whole course approach to planning assessment. Course Leaders will be consulted on approaches to integrating eassessment. Susannah Lamb will support Course Leaders to make the most effective use of the data available. Back 11.00 – 12.00 Quality and quantity: the use of evidence in review (Jane McNeil) This workshop will consider the nature of the evidence that is used to inform decisions made by review panels and course teams when considering issues of standards and quality. Questions of appropriateness, quality and integrity will be explored with respect to our expectations about what review can, and should, achieve. Polly Pick will share her experiences and good practice if you are considering or likely to find yourself involved in this area. Back 12.00 – 12.30 Regulations: Academic Irregularities and UKBA Tier 4 (Jo Spanswick) Jo Spanswick, Academic Office will provide an update on the impact of the UKBA regulations and an update on the Academic Irregularities policy. Back 14.45 – 16.15 Influencing without authority (Karen Litchfield and Rebecca Peat) Leading your course into the future requires leading colleagues who are peers and sometimes senior staff. Rebecca Peat and Karen Lichfield will support you in developing ways of influencing and taking your course team with you when enhancing your course. Andy Grayson will share his experience as a Course Leader of implementing initiatives for the benefit of the course and the students.
