DIRECTOR, REVENUE MANAGEMENT The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for maximizing revenues and minimizing the cost of distribution for rooms and meeting space of a group of 5 independent boutique hotels. Reports to: VP of Revenues & Marketing Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree Area of Study: Hospitality Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years in relevant revenue management position for multiple properties Languages: French, English PROFILE Superior analytical skills in identifying issues Capacity for creative thinking and resourcefulness in problem solving Proven track record in making sound business decisions for profitable revenue management Proficient in analyzing financial statements and market data Excellent understanding of travel industry distribution systems (third party channels, GDS, CRS, PMS) Excellent understanding of consumer behaviour, especially in e-commerce Results driven, loves to win Ability to lead, motivate and develop team members Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations Ability to handle competing and changing priorities/projects Ability to effectively manage and delegate work Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (French AND English) Demonstrate positive energy and enthusiasm Extremely organized and detail oriented Advanced knowledge of hospitality revenue principles and practices Technically savvy with ability to understand new systems quickly Mastery of a hotel PMS, preferably Opera Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, advanced Excel) ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES - Leadership in Revenue Management and Distribution Strategies - Drive Revenue Management initiatives designed to maximize top-line revenue and market share, while optimizing profitability, for 4 existing properties - Participate in new hotel opening by developing and implementing pre-opening plans for market strategy. - Provide owners and executive team regularly with updated market insight and all relevant information regarding competition. - Collaborate with cross-functional team (Operations, Sales, Marketing) to identify priorities and develop strategies. - Manage relationships with other city RMs and OTA market reps and the booking engine provider. - Responsible for controlling costs of distribution and other departmental costs - Prepare and chair revenue meetings for transient and group strategies in pricing - Champion of all systems and processes in Revenue Management Lead preparation of annual revenue budgets and forecasts Responsible for accuracy and relevancy of all data input and report generation of revenue tracking tools, in the RMS and all other systems Maintain oversight of online distribution through updated and effective ecommerce/revenue initiatives Develop/improve department’s SOPs Serve as the company’s connectivity expert. Stays current on all changes and enhancements to the platforms (CRS, GDS, Booking Engine, OTAs) Responsible for PMS, RMS and booking engine performance, updates, upgrades; explores new options Monitor central reservations department to ensure consistency with property level inventory and price strategies Manage RMS performance in order to maximize system performance and revenue impact. - Management of Revenue Team Direct and support revenue managers, develop property specific actions plans, provide training on systems and how to carry out strategies Provide training to revenue managers Participate in property revenue meetings to ensure alignment of inventory control and pricing with strategies Oversee maintenance of group cut-off/pick-up/wash Ensure that regular audits are conducted on top BT rate codes to ensure viewership and availability Ensure that regular audits are conducted on branded & OTA sites to ensure hotel content, rates and promotions such are properly displayed Perform reviews, communicates results, and recommends corrective actions Interview, hire, motivate, develop, monitor and address staff performance - Supervision of Reservations - Overlook creation of centralized reservations department for 5 properties - Communicate about key revenue management initiatives, training and tools as appropriate. - Project management - Manage switching to new online booking engine - Lead implementation of a Revenue Management System - Implement space optimization practices in sale process of meeting rooms
