Job Title: Data Analyst, New York City Child and Adolescent Resiliency Enhancement Services (NYC CARES) Organization: Fund for Public Health in New York, Inc. Position Reports to: Program Analyst, NYC CARES Salary: Part-time, Flexible hours - 14 hours/week, $27-30 per hour, commensurate with experience This is a grant-funded position. The grant period will run through January 26, 2016. The Fund for Public Health in New York, Inc. (FPHNY) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNY implements programs to address pressing public health needs, fosters private sector support to enhance health and health care, and helps educate the public regarding the protection of individual, family, and community health. FPHNY seeks a part-time Data Analyst funded through NYC Child and Adolescent Resiliency Enhancement Services (NYC CARES), a Supplemental Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Emergency Response Grant, which aims to improve the mental health outcomes and build the resilience of NYC children and their families who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. NYC Cares offers mental health evaluation and treatment services in primary care and community settings for children exposed to the hurricane and continuing to experience posttraumatic stress symptoms and other mental health and substance use concerns, and a resiliency training program for school personnel in affected neighborhoods to strengthen their resilience, ability to support their students, and preparedness for future disasters. This position will be housed within the Bureau of Children, Youth and Families (CYF) in the Division of Mental Hygiene of DOHMH. POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Program Manager of NYC CARES, the Data Analyst will oversee the data collection and analysis for the NYC CARES grant-funded programs and services. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Maintain data tracking and reporting forms for completion by the contracted service providers Manage data collection: collect, track and analyze NYC CARES data to summarize and monitor outputs and outcomes Ensure providers’ compliance with data submission by reviewing and cleaning data. Provide timely summary analyses of the NYC CARES data and interpret findings on various data points Work closely with contract program leadership and staff to analyze program-level data and offer ongoing recommendations for improving program implementation Develop and prepare ongoing reports and presentations for internal program monitoring and for DOHMH leadership and SAMHSA Conduct related literature reviews for programmatic purposes Perform other evaluation related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERRED SKILLS: A Master’s Degree in Social work, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Psychology or other relevant graduate degree from an accredited college or university, and (1) or more years work experience in data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting in a public health or clinical setting or Bachelor’s Degree with graduate-level credits in Social Work, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Psychology or other relevant programs. Excellent time management, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills Able to meet tight deadlines and work in an unpredictable environment Strong computer skills with a proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel) and SAS or SPSS..
