KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS EARNS TOP RANKINGS FROM A.M. BEST-40TH CONSECUTIVE
YEAR
DOUG SUPAK NAMED INTERNATIONAL FIC OF THE YEAR
Citing the Knights of Columbus’ strong presence in Catholic communities & its members’ loyalty, ratings
agency A.M. Best reaffirmed the KofC’s rating of A++ (Superior) for financial strength. The rating agency’s
announcement marks the 40th consecutive year the Knights of Columbus earned A.M. Best’s highest marks.
The Knights of Columbus has $99.1 Billion of life insurance in force & $22 Billion in assets under
management. No insurer in North America is more highly rated than the Knights of Columbus.
“Knights and their families are not just customers, they are members of a fraternal family, united by their
common bonds of faith and service,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. “Our rating is a testament to our
ethical and sustainable business philosophy, which combines good business decisions with an outlook that puts
people before profits.” Supreme Knight Anderson added that “a key to our organizations strength consists of
our excellent agents, who are Knights of Columbus and who view their brother Knights as family members.”
Speaking of excellent agents, Field Agent Doug Supak was named the “International FIC of the Year” by the
Fraternal Field Managers Association, the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counsellors and the
American Fraternal Alliance. Doug who was honored as the State FIC of the year at the NAFIC convention in
May, will be honored at the International NAFIC convention to be held in Indianapolis in September. He is the
first Knights of Columbus agent to receive this prestigious award.
Doug is a 38-year veteran of the Knights of Columbus field force, beginning his career on Jan. 1, 1977.
Throughout his professional career, Doug has earned numerous accolades for his exemplary service to his
members. Doug is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a recipient of both the
National Quality Award and the National Sales Achievement Award, a perennial Supreme Knight’s Club
qualifier and a quintessential 100 percent agent.
Doug is also a committed Fraternalist. In his 54 years as a Knight, he has served as Grand Knight, as District
Deputy and as group chairman for over 30 years. Doug is also extremely active in his community, having been
a long-time Little League & Babe Ruth Coach as well as a CCD teacher & usher for Sacred Heart Catholic
Church.
Above all else, Doug is a committed family man, devoted to his wife Marian, his four children, his 13
grandchildren & his 8 great-grandchildren. Thanks to Doug, the Supak’s are a legacy family with the Knights of
Columbus. Both his sons – Tom and Jody – have enjoyed long careers with the Knights. Jody is a Field Agent
alongside his father and Tom is their General Agent. Congratulations to Doug for achieving this award & thank
you for being the epitome of what it means to be a Knights of Columbus Field Agent.
