Things Used for Building Castles Some materials are… stone, wood, limestone, sandstone, cobblestone and brick. The amount of time a castle took to make was about 15-50 years. The castles floor were made mostly out of wood and the stone. Next there is the roof; the roof was the hardest to build. Also the floor took forever to put in place. Next we have the support beams. They were made out of wood. Then the windows were the hardest part of the process. First there are at least 50 huge windows. Glass does not come easily so it would be hard for anyone to have the job to fill in the windows for the castle.
