Communications and Engagement Support Officer Contract type: Secondment (up to 12 months) Location: Central London Salary: in the region of £37,000 Accountable to: Communications and Engagement Manager The post-holder will work as part of a dynamic team in supporting effective communication and stakeholder management to the World Dementia Council (WDC) and ensuring the WDC has wide global recognition. We are seeking a creative and innovative communications specialist to proactively support our Communications and Engagement Manager and help us build our profile and engage with our key audiences and stakeholders. The post-holder will be required to assist with delivery of a comprehensive communications and engagement plan and day-to-day communications functions. You will also be responsible for creating and delivering a wide range of communications, including digital and print content, driving visitors to the WDC website as well as encouraging online discussion through social media channels and broadening the WDC reach to create a genuine open network. Job summary: Provide proactive support to the Communications and Engagement Manager to deliver a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy and plan. The role requires a graduate-level communications professional with an understanding of communications, stakeholder engagement and digital tools. Develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including WDC members, the public, people affected by dementia. Develop and maintain the WDC public-facing website, creating online content that will drive more visitors to the site and keep them there for longer. Encourage debate and build influence on social media. Horizon-scan for emerging digital innovations that would be beneficial for the WDC to adopt to better engage with all its stakeholders. Coordinate the production and distribution of print/online publications on behalf of the WDC, including leading on planning and production of the WDC business plan and annual report, newsletters and updates, and other publications as required. This will include writing engaging and easy to understand copy, editing, proof-reading to ensure high quality end products. Develop and maintain the WDC engagement calendar and keep abreast of activities and events carried out by other organisations, governments and agencies to ensure WDC representation and participation at key global events and conferences. Provide key messages and scripts to suit different audiences for WDC members and the Executive Team. Produce high-quality presentations for WDC members and the Executive Team to suit a wide range of audiences. Arrange and deliver a range of events and conferences as required. Undertake other duties which may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
