She has a specific interest in the investigation of biological, social and environmental determinants of activity and sedentary behaviours in a manner to inform interventions. Current projects: Personalised physical activity prescription for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation Patients commonly present with more than one long-term condition, however, disease management frequently remains in silos. This research aims to use the ‘exercise is medicine’ approach to investigate the impact of physical activity on the multi-morbid patient (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic heart failure as exemplars). Specifically this research will explore the viability of developing and testing a generic rehabilitation programme at the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine - East Midlands to understand the interaction between rehabilitation, exercise, physical activity and comorbidities.
