The Church graciously provides the reception at no cost to us and has purchased art for their permanent collection. Entry Requirements Entry is open to all WWG current members in good standing. Members may submit up to three paintings. Diptychs – polytychs are considered one entry if framed in a single frame. For the Fall juried show, there is no guarantee on getting any paintings in the show. Paintings must be original in concept, not copies of work or photographs of others, not completed in a class or workshop, and completed in the past two years. Paintings must not have appeared in another WWG annual spring or fall juried exhibition nor have objectionable content to WWG co-chairs or the exhibition venue will not be allowed. WWG reserves the right to refuse any work that does not conform to the Entry Requirements. As an entrant, you are agreeing to the stated rules and requirements and give permission for WWG to photograph and display your accepted paintings on the WWG website and/or promotional materials. Media Acceptable painting media includes watercolor, gouache, acrylics, egg tempera and casein paints as well as watercolor pencils, crayons and water-soluble inks. Mediums, gels, gesso, and other painting supplements may be used. Pastels, gold and silver leafing are acceptable if water-based media is the dominant media. No water-based oils. Collage is acceptable using hand-painted white papers painted with water-based media. Substrates Acceptable papers/supports include cotton rag, oriental papers, synthetic paper, watercolor canvas and any kind of coated paper or board. No commercially colored or printed papers allowed. Matting, Framing and Glazing Your presentation is as important as the painting – frames, mats, acrylic, backing and wiring must be clean, neat, and secure. Acceptable framing materials include metal and non-ornate wood frames in black, white, dark colors, gold, silver, bronze, pewter or wood stains. Frames can be up to 2 ½ inches in width. The maximum frame size is 42 inches in either direction. Mats, if used, must be only white, off-white or a pale neutral. One narrow colored liner may be used. Each painting must be under acrylic glazing. 37th Annual Fall Exhibition October 3 to November 1, 2015 Each painting must be wired from side to side with screw-in hangers. No saw-toothed hangers. Each painting must have a completed label from this prospectus placed in the upper left corner on the back of the painting. Additional Exhibition Information and Guidelines Exhibitions will be juried by qualified professionals in the arts community who will be knowledgeable of the Entry Requirements, and their decisions will be accepted as final. Every effort will be made to allow the juror to work without undue influence. Exhibition committees have authority to set additional rules and regulations as necessary for the annual juried exhibitions, but may not drop or alter any requirements unless specifically approved by the WWG Board of Directors. All accepted paintings must remain hanging for the entire duration of the Exhibition. Buyers may pick up purchased paintings only after the exhibit closes. Sales shall be handled by the individual artist. Inform the Exhibition Chair of sale of a painting. Digital images should be cropped and meet requirements for digital format if needed for jurying or publishing. Invitations will be emailed to members for their publicity use. Due care will be used in handling the artist’s work, however, WWG and its representatives will not be responsible for the theft, loss or damage to works submitted. Insurance coverage is the responsibility of the individual artist. The art will not be insured by the Gallery or Church.
