Using the booklet
In this booklet are the scripts of the 77 short conversations on the Play it Again Playbutton, for listening
and pronunciation practice.
In the conversations, you will hear different people
•
looking for work
•
applying for jobs, including going for interviews
•
starting work
•
communicating and negotiating at work
•
socialising at work.
Repeating out loud is a very effective way to improve your pronunciation. Each conversation is played
twice. First you will hear the full conversation. Then you will hear a small sound and you will hear each line
of the conversation followed by a pause. In the pause, repeat what you have heard.
Sometimes, if a line is long, you will hear half of it, then a pause. Repeat when you hear the pause. Then
you will hear the second half of the line, and another pause. Repeat the second half of the line.
