BASINGSTOKE & DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL DECISION NOTICE SUBJECT KEY DECISION NUMBER Continued funding of Hampshire Cultural Trust 959/CSDI DECISION TYPE (please mark X as relevant) X Key Cabinet Non Key Portfolio Holder X Officer WARDS AFFECTED: All THE DECISION IS THAT: a) The council provides an additional four years of funding to Hampshire Cultural Trust, to support the operation of Milestones, Basing House and the Willis Museum and Sainsbury’s Gallery until 2019/20. b) Funding will be awarded on a decreasing basis, with a reduction of 2% per annum in years one and two, followed by a further 10% in year three and a further 2% in year four. THE REASONS FOR THE DECISION ARE: In 2015/16 an initial grant of one year’s funding (£216,745) was provided whilst the new trust was established. This enabled the borough council to review the trust’s progress and performance before committing to a longer term funding agreement. Since forming in November 2014, the Hampshire Cultural Trust has demonstrated that it is performing well and has established a clear structure, strategic direction and it is taking a pragmatic approach to income generation to address future funding gaps.
