S6CS1. Students will explore the importance of curiosity, honesty, openness, and skepticism in
science and will exhibit these traits in their own efforts to understand how the world works.
a. Understand the importance of—and keep—honest, clear, and accurate records in science.
b. Understand that hypotheses are valuable if they lead to fruitful investigations, even if
the hypotheses turn out not to be completely accurate descriptions.
Working as a team, can we meet the challenge?
DAILY:Logic questions/riddles will be on the board as students enter the
classroom. We will work to build critical thinking skills!
Class will discuss and “check” each item.
Expectations and the importance of teamwork for success!

-Build the tallest free standing structure( 25 straws/2m masking tape)…not
taped to the floor…receive 10 points.
Measure and award points. Keep record of points per group.

Heavy Weight Challenge: Build the strongest structure out of 100 toothpicks
and 1m of tape. Must not touch the desk. Most weight held earns 10 points.
