This project will be held at two locations: Gallery’s old mansion in the center of the city and one of the most significant late constructivist buildings – ZIL CC. In anticipation of the opening Ksenia Podoynitsyna and Stanislav Uyba, Gallery 21 owners, said: “We are very glad to take part in Special program of III Moscow International Biennale For Young Art and to present the most prominent contemporary young artists, with who Gallery 21 also works. All artists created their works especially for the exhibition in order to show that the interaction between space and images has been exciting the artists’ imagination for a long time. The audience will have an opportunity to analyze new sense effects within Russian context. We are confident that the first Sergey Lotsmanov’s object made of varied materials, Sergey Ogurtsov’s complex installation presented in three dimensions and deals with historical and philosophical themes and also Julia Ivashkina’s multilevel sense construction will be interesting for the general public. Gallery 21 and ZIL CC spaces are about to open to the public the new, contemporary and dynamic, Moscow”. In Gallery 21 there will be presented works of Natalia Zintsova, Sergey Ogurtsov, Anya Titova, Aslan Gaysumov, Alexandr Povzner and Olga Zovskaya; ZIL CC will exhibit the works of Sergey Lotsmanov, Julia Ivashkina, Anya Titova, Roman Mokrov, Alexandra Sukhareva, Ivan Gorshkov, Dmitry Filippov, Igor Chirkin and Aleksey Podkidyshev, Alexandr Povzner and Olga Zovskaya. Works of Anya Titova, Alexander Povzner and Olga Zovskaya will be located in both areas. Stas Shuripa, the curator, emphasizes that there is specific reason for bringing together all these works. “Examination of the border between the spaces of social interactions and artistic fiction” lays in these artists’ sphere of interests. The viewers may follow the authors’ artistic idea, where the main aim is to escape from the space reality into the sphere of ephemeral and non-material – what is actually the creation of counterillusions. In this exposition artists rather tend to escape from simple image visualization, appealing to everyday life they create new non-material object. The core of the art work is not in the figurativity or materials of an object but the sense impulse that it creates. For example Aslan Gaysumov’s object is interesting because it is made of burned ashes of the works he created during classical art education. The work of Igor Chirkin and Aleksey Podkidyshev will not suffer from lack of attention as it is a huge six-meter sweater that stretches above people’s heads. Roman Mokrov will present one hour video with his interpretation of simple life and of how barbeque may acquire new meaning if made while sitting on a red sofa. As usual the richest works in terms of sense will be presented by Anya Titova and Sasha Suhareva, the way they combine forms and materials has a special importance for perception. The opening of the exhibition “Counterillusions” in Gallery 21 will take place July, 12 at 19:00 at the address: Moscow, Pugovishnikov pereulok, 11/3. The guests will have an opportunity to speak to the artists and main art protagonists.
