Science Liaison (MSL) – Infectious Disease to cover the following region: Southern California. This is
a field-based position and the candidate must live in the region and have access to a major
metropolitan airport. Ideally the candidate will reside in: Southern California.

The Medical science liaison (MSL) position is within the Medical Affairs Division of Janssen
Therapeutics:
The MSL will engage thought leaders providing product information, disease state topics, clinical
trends and research.
The MSL will champion investigator initiated proposal concepts and provide research support for
company sponsored studies.
The MSL will attend conferences as a full scientific registrant to gather and convey new scientific
information relevant to the company and the external scientific community.
The MSL will may participate in providing clinical support to projects as requested by internal
business partners.

The MSL will be required to execute their daily operational and administrative functions as defined
by Health Care Compliance policies and guidelines.
A successful MSL will strengthen the bond between Janssen Therapeutics and the healthcare
community within their geography.
Qualifications:
PharmD, MD/DO, or PhD is highly preferred. Will consider an advanced degreed PA or NP with
equivalent experience. At least 1-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (as a Medical
Liaison or equivalent) or in a clinical/academic setting also required. Clinical experience in the field
of HIV, HCV and/or Infectious Diseases is strongly preferred. Prior experience in research and/or
with analysis of clinical research data or exposure to pharmaceutical industry interactions as an
employee or key customer is strongly preferred. Proficiency with the utilization of computer,
applications and experience with the Microsoft platform (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel) is
required. Ability to apply SOP's, work instructions and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines is
required. Ability to travel at least 70% in region including overnight stays required. A valid U.S.
driver's license and clean driving record are required.
