The Euro is the currency of France (ATM machines are
used widely throughout).
Visa &
Passport
Visas to France are not required for U.S. citizens. All
passengers traveling internationally are required to
have a passport. European law requires you to carry
your passport with you at all times. Please carry proper
identification (your passport) with you and do not leave
it in your suitcase or hotel room.

Driving is on the right side of the road

French is the official language. English is widely spoken
in most areas

Tipping
Most restaurants will include a 15% service charge in
their prices. Feel free to leave another 2-3% if the
service was good.
Hotel porters can be given EUR 1.50 per bag and taxi
drivers approximately 10-15%.
Shopping
Choose from large department stores, designer boutiques or
flea markets. There is something for everyone. Shops are
open Mon-Sat 9am - 7pm.

Tour Itinerary
T
his trip is the perfect way to see the highlights of
Paris—plus, the World War II landing beaches in
Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire Valley in a short
amount of time. In Paris, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local
restaurant, followed by an orientation drive through the
“City of Light.” Visit magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral,
and ascend the Eiffel Tower during your guided
sightseeing. Travel to Rouen, admire the cathedral, and
hear about Joan of Arc. Later that day arrive in Caen,
where World War II comes alive at the fascinating
Memorial Museum for Peace, and the American Cemetery
with its visitor center at Omaha Beach. Later that day
enjoy a guided tour of the famous Abbey of Mont St.
.Michel. The next day visit the jewel of the French
Renaissance, Château Chambord, and Catherine de
Medici’s lovely Chenonceau. The piece de resistance is a
visit to Chartres’ cathedral before returning to Paris.

Welcome to Paris, the City of
Light! Check into the five star
Hotel Marriott Champs-Elysees
or the Hotel Napoleon in
George V, and relax, or wander
through the boulevards and
cobbled side streets of this
beautiful city.
That evening meet your Tour Director and fellow traveling
companions, then leave the hotel for a welcome dinner at
one of Paris’ historic restaurants and enjoy an orientation
drive to get a first impression of Paris. (Dinner)

Paris Sightseeing
Sightseeing with a Local Expert
on Parisian history includes
such landmarks as the Arc de
Triomphe, Place de la
Concorde, L’Opéra
, Madeleine, the Louvre, and
the Champs-Elysées, as well as
the world famous Notre Dame
Cathedral. No visit to Paris would be complete without a visit
to the Eiffel Tower to see a panoramic view of the city.
We will end the day on the Seine River with a romantic
evening dinner cruise. (Lunch, Dinner)

Palace of Versailles
See the Palace of Versailles
(Château de Versailles) on an
exclusive tour which gives you
priority entrance to the castle
and its extensive grounds through
a reserved door. This tour
provides you with unprecedented
access to magnificent rooms such
as Louis XVI’s library. These rooms are normally off-limits to the
general public, but this special tour will allow you to see a side
of the UNESCO World-Heritage-listed Palace of Versailles that
most will never see. This VIP experience also includes a tour of
rooms in the State Apartments and the famous Hall of

In Rouen, admire the façade of

paintings. Then stroll along the
charming cobblestoned Rue du
Gros-Horloge leading to the
square where Joan of Arc was
burned in 1431. After arriving in
Caen, visit the fascinating Memorial Museum for Peace with its
great exhibits and audiovisual show about the Battle of

Michel
Follow the Liberty Highway to
St. Lô and on to Omaha Beach,
where your Travel Director
provides an excellent account
of the momentous events that
took place here. Pause and
reflect on the courage of those
who gave their lives. Visit the D-Day museum and learn about
how the operation was planned and executed. Next day,
enjoy a guided visit of the famous Abbey of Mont St. Michel,
perched on a rocky isle in the Gulf of Saint Malo. Stay
overnight in the Hotel Le Grand De Cabourg on the coast or
Hotel Ivan Vauiter in the Caen city where you dine tonight.
