Morehead State University Internship Scholarship Information (Keep this page for your records) About the Internship Scholarship The MSU Internship Scholarship was established by University Advancement for the purpose of sending students to internship opportunities outside of East Kentucky. Internships are a key component of student success and as such this scholarship is intended to support students from East Kentucky in their internship endeavors. Qualifications Be an enrolled student in good academic, financial and social standing at Morehead State University Have a minimum cumulative grade point of 2.50 Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Receive academic credit for the internship (MSU 339 or other course) Submit internship information into MSU JOB LINK career management system Any student may apply, but if funds are limited, preference will be given to students from the 22 county service region*. Application Requirements To apply, an applicant must submit an Internship Scholarship Application through MSU Office of Enrollment Services. Included in this application the student must: Include a brief statement of career goals, learning objectives for the internship, and reason for financial need (travel to internship, housing, etc.). A proposed “budget” for the expenses you will apply the scholarship monies toward. A learning contract or other statement that shows the internship responsibilities, internship site supervisor, faculty sponsor and internship course (MSU 339 for 3 credit hours). Student must be registered on MSU JOB LINK through Career Services Applications must be received at least three weeks prior to the start of the semester that credit will be received or three weeks prior to the start date of your internship. The award amount will depend on number of applications during that semester and available funds. Your specific financial needs will be reviewed and considered. Preference will be given to students participating in internships in large cities and other states due to housing and travel costs. Priority submission due dates: for fall, by July 15; for spring, by December 1; for summer, by April 15.
