tests/projects happening, we hope your child is using their time wisely to prepare ...
The field trip to the Raleigh City Museum/Mordecai House (Raleigh Trolley tour) is coming up
on Friday, December 19th. If your child hasn't turned in the paper/$2 to their homeroom
teacher, Friday, December 12th is the last day. I have attached the form if you need one. We
have enough drivers/chaperones for the trip! I'll send a separate e-mail with directions/itinerary
soon.
The Geo Bee "qualifier" test will be given on Friday, December 12th (early release). Your child
can use the links below to help prepare (paste in browser). The top 10 students will compete to
be the school-wide winner the following Thursday, December 18th. Should be fun!

Here's what we have going on this week...
8th Grade Weekly Update
Class Info:




Math 8- Mrs. Boas (12/8-12/12) Students will learn about similar figures and how to find
missing parts using proportions. Students will have a test on this unit Monday the 15th.
Math I- Mrs. Boas (12/8-12/12) We will review the rules of exponents. Students will
learn how to simplify expressions using the rules for multiplication, division and negative
exponents.
Social Studies - Mr. Root (12/8-12/12) This week the students will be turning in their
current event magazine project on Monday. We will also be learning about the Civil
Rights Movement. The Geo Bee qualifying test will be on Friday. The top 10 students
will compete for school title on Thursday, December 18th!
Language Arts - Mr. Ezzell: (12/8-12/12) This week, students have a DGP quiz on
Tuesday and their Prizefight Projects due on Wednesday. As we wrap up our dystopian
literature unit, we will be sharing their projects and will begin preparing for the unit test
on the 16th.

Champion in the MPR.

Raleigh) and last day of 2nd quarter.
