The 2015 Richardson Spouses’ Club Country Fair will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Buckner Physical Fitness Center (BPFC). We anticipate this year's event to be as fabulous as in years past. We continue to feature some of the best craftsmen and artisans in Alaska. Many of you are old friends and some of you are joining us for the first time - our welcome and thanks to all of you! To assist in your pre-fair planning, please review the following information; we have reminders as well as new information. POST ENTRY INFORMATION All RSC Country Fair traffic will utilize the JBER-Richardson Gate (off the Glenn Highway) entrance. If you indicated on your registration form that you do not have a DOD ID card, your name will be on a special list for vendors. You will proceed to the gate where you will be sent to the checkpoint area. There, you will be asked to show your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Your vehicle will be inspected. If you have not given us the full name as it is on your Driver’s license, drivers license number and state of issue, and either last 4 digits of your SSN or your full birth date of each person entering post for your booth, please do so ASAP so we can get them on the list and make entering easier for you that day. This is subject to change and we ensure you of such notifications in a timely manner. ** Please allow extra time to get processed through security** We thank everyone in advance for their understanding and patience concerning matters of security. Public Safety and Force Protection is our obvious number one concern, and our JBER ABW and Security Forces have been overwhelmingly supportive of this event. If for any reason the Fair must be cancelled due to security concerns, you will be immediately notified and your money will be refunded, but ONLY if the Fair is cancelled. If you have any questions concerning post entry, please contact Amanda. CHECK IN AND SET UP FOR VENDORS PARKING From the checkpoint area, follow the road that will be designated for vendors. The Buckner Physical Fitness Center (BPFC) is on the right, corner of D and 6th Street. You may park in front of BPFC doors during active loading and unloading. This area will be patrolled to keep the fire lanes open and the handicapped parking free for those who truly need it. If you need a special spot due to a medical condition, please let us know and we will accommodate you. Vendors are asked to park in the parking area across the street from the BPFC during the Fair. There will be a group of volunteers to assist you with your unloading Friday and reloading on Saturday. All vendors must register on November 7th, 2015 at the Richardson Spouses’ Club (RSC) Welcome Booth, located at the entrance of the gymnasium. You will receive a vendor packet prior to unloading or setting up your booth. **The BPFC will be open and available for vendors to begin setting up on Friday, November 6th from 3:00– 6 pm and Saturday, November 7th morning at 7:30- 9:00 am. ** Please be completed with tear down on Saturday, November 7th, by 7:00 pm. BOOTHS All booth spaces are 10’ x 10’. You are responsible for bringing your own table(s) and chairs. We will make every effort to ensure that each space is exactly these dimensions, and in consideration of your neighbors, please do not infringe upon someone else's space unless there is an agreement between you. If you have a wall space, you may not hang any items on the walls; you may however "make" your own wall at your own expense. The "wall" must be inside your 10’x10’ space. You must keep your area clean. We do not have trashcans or liners available; therefore remember to bring your own. There will be dumpsters available for your end of day clean up. In consideration of others, you will need to remain set up until 5 p.m. ELECTRICITY If you are receiving electricity, you must bring a heavy-duty (12 or 14 gauge) extension cord, no longer than 50 ft in length. Our Fire Marshall will be reviewing the electrical use from a safety standpoint the day of the Fair. PUBLICITY We began our mainline advertising in September, with displays in the Anchorage Daily News. Flyers will be distributed throughout the surrounding communities. There will also be radio spots, additional newspaper ads, and message boards in Anchorage, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Eagle River, and the Mat-Su Valley. Admission to the RSC Country Fair is free. REFRESHMENTS Continental breakfast will be provided to the vendors on Saturday, November 7th, from 7:30 – 9:00am. The RSC Country Fair will feature our fabulous Family Readiness Groups (FRG) Food Court, with many delicious food choices, available for purchase.
