This city has the perfect blend of history and modern influences, its considered the heart of Split for not just visitors but for locals as well. „Riva“ for coffee at a cafe, its rubbing the foot of Grgur Ninski for good luck; its friendly people. After this memorable walk you will visit the countryside here that is dotted with vineyards, each vine sitting in its own patch of fertile earth within a framework of stone walls covering the surrounding hills. Wine-tasting and the gourmet dinner served in the cellars of the Bibic Winery has become the signature event for lovers of fine wine and food in Croatia. The vineyards are located in the rolling hills above historic Skradin and Krka National Park in the bucolic village of Plastovo. Among the most celebrated in the country, most of Bibic's limited production is sold only in very select shops and served in the finest restaurants--the rest is exported to the US and

Europe. In addition to their award-winning whites and reds, Bibic also produces exceptional brandies. After a tour of the vineyards and cellars, you will be invited by owner Alen Bibic and his wife Vesna to enjoy a 6-8 course wine-pairing gourmet late lunch. Each dish is visually stunning and a divinely delectable--individually prepared and served on its own special china with a wine chosen personally by Alen.

Depending on the season, you'll enjoy tender home-raised veal, free range ducks, pheasant and other poultry together with a medley of organically grown vegetables and herbs from their extensive gardens. This sublime experience ends with a fabulous desert and brandy. After dinner you can browse the Bibic Winery shop to buy not only their finest wine but Bibic first cold pressed olive oil and other Dalmatian delicacies.

Marmont Hotel – 4*

The Marmont Hotel is located in the heart of the old town of Split, just steps away from Diocletian’s Palace. Built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian for his retirement, the palace is today recognised as one of the best preserved Ancient Roman sites anywhere. Named after the Napoleonic commander who built the earliest roads in

Dalmatia, the stylish and elegant Marmont Hotel is steeped in history. Not only that, but it is literally surrounded by history, since it is built within the precinct of Diocletian's

Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Yet the hotel forms a bridge between past and present, tradition and modernity, being a harmonious blend of 15th-century stone walls and clean, minimalist lines. The entrance and dining areas are particularly spectacular, with their rich wooden floors and LCD screens. In the rooms the focus is on creating warm, cosy spaces – white walls are combined with contemporary dark walnut furniture, blanched oak flooring and beautiful cream damask materials to create an elegant, refined atmosphere.

Marmont Hotel was named after Napoleon´s commander, Marshal Auguste Frédéric de Marmont, who first began building roads in Dalmatia in the early 19th century.

That fact so deeply impressed the people that they passed on from generation to generation the story of this French general. It is said: "Marmont mounted a horse and said: 'Let the road come to be!' When he dismounted the horse, the roads were already finished.

Mediterranean atmosphere. Breakfast is served in a striking room that blends ancient walls with modern architecture – a great way to begin the day. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, and private parking can be arranged nearby.
