Closer to the Customer: PHOENIX Conveyor Belt Systems launches in NAFTA Region
Experienced and innovative with a wealth of know-how: PHOENIX has
launched its advanced mining solutions and services in the NAFTA
markets.
Fairlawn, Ohio, in April 2015. On January 30, international automotive supplier and industrial partner Continental concluded its acquisition of the U.S.
industrial rubber company Veyance Technologies Inc, of Fairlawn, Ohio.
The Goodyear Engineered Products Conveyor Belt mining brand, in the
North American region, is now branded Phoneix Conveyor Belt Systems.
The new business will be an important part of the global PHOENIX conveyorbelt portfolio. “PHOENIX has always been a pioneer and industry leader in
the development and manufacture of conveyor belts, bringing over 100 years
worth of experience to the market,” describes Bret Hall, who oversees the
mining business in the NAFTA region. “The company is recognized worldwide as a specialist in providing customized solutions for highly complex applications. We are now joining forces with Veyance’s Conveyor Belt Mining
business which has also been in the mining industry for 100 years.” PHOENIX is known worldwide for its claim of “Extreme Conveyor Belt Solutions”
and has achieved an abundance of world records in conveying solutions
around the globe. The first appearance of the newly launched PHOENIX
brand in NAFTA will be at the International Coal Prep 2015 trade show from
April 27 to 29 at the Lexington Center, Lexington, KY. “To learn more about
PHOENIX and its wide range of specialized solutions, visitors should come
see us at booth 105,” Hall continues.

PHOENIX Conveyor Belt Systems has produced conveyor belts, that include
world records such as the strongest belts, both textile and steel cord, the
steepest overland, and the world's heaviest belt. The brand serves the worldwide bulk material handling industry from international production facilities.

Ranging from steel cord to textile conveyor belts and specialized solutions as

manufactured the PHOENOCORD steel cord conveyor belt. Phoenocord‘s
outstanding properties include high breaking strength coupled with high capacity as well as a long working life reducing the need for costly maintenance. For specialized solutions, S-Wall is the latest in a long line of industry
leading innovations introduced by Phoenix. The corrugated sidewall belts are
suitable for vertical conveyance at angles of up to 90 degrees. They are ideal
for applications within confined spaces. A newly developed rubber compound
for the corrugated sidewalls and cleats ensures that they cope with the high
demands of steep angle conveying. These hard-wearing materials can significantly increase the service life of the belt and prevent time-intensive maintenance and repair work. “These are just two examples of the rich portfolio of
products that PHOENIX has to offer for the mining market in the NAFTA region,” Hall emphasizes and continues, “We are now looking forward to working with our customers closer than ever.”
