Prerequisites MSc in Animal Science or Biology or equivalent knowledge. Objective The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the SAS software, so that the students after the course can perform data handling and editing, as well as basic statistical analyses on their own. Content Introduction to SAS How to ‘read the manuals’ How to get your data into SAS How to check and edit your data How to create new variables Merging data files Basic statistical analyses, t-test, X2-test, analysis of variance (PROC GLM) Simulation in SAS Course evaluation Means of conducting the course Three (Skara) and seven (Uppsala) half-day meetings with lectures and computer exercises. In addition, the students are expected to do individual work in between meetings. The students will bring their own computers with the SAS software installed. The students are encouraged to provide their own dataset as training examples. Examination: Participation in at least 2 / 5 meetings.
