Reinbeck Woman Dies Mrs. Mary Taylor, widow of the late James
Taylor, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George E. Shear,
Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock of diseases incident to advanced
age. Her illness became acute only a few hours before her death. Mrs.
Taylor, whose maiden name was Carroll, was born in Ireland in 1840
and accompanied her parents to America when she was four years old.
The Carrolls first located in Pennsylvania, but later removed to Illinois
and the decedent was married in that state. The Taylors moved to
Reinbeck in 1871. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church and is survived by six sons and one daughter,
Joseph, Robert, George W., Chas. and Oscar, all of Reinbeck; H. B. of
Princeton, Minn. and Mrs. George E. Shear, of Reinbeck. Two brothers,
David of Chicago, and Sinclair, of Reinbeck, also survive. The funeral
services was conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the
Methodist church. –Grundy Republican (Grundy Center, Iowa), 6
