The Network of Community Entrepreneurs (NCE, also dba ‘Bridges’) accepts your offer of service as a
VOLUNTEER on placement to Bridges but it is agreed by all parties that this arrangement is NOT
intended to imply a contract of employment and is therefore NOT to be construed as such.
The terms of your placement as a volunteer with Bridges are as follows:

3. Assignment and Duties:
a. Building relational connections with people who are unchurched in Sierra Madre
b. Discipling people who are from outside of existing churches
c. Moving towards the 12 criteria of a Christ-following community
d. Providing Leadership to the team
e. Selecting and overseeing volunteers
f. Selecting and training more Bridge Leaders as part of the normal process of discipleship
4. Financial Arrangements: As a volunteer (non-employee) you are responsible for ensuring that
you have adequate financial support for your program or project for the duration of the
placement, as per the attached schedule of allowances. You will be a deputized fundraiser for
this project on behalf of Bridges. All donations should be paid to Bridges.
5. Reimbursement of expenses: Bridges will NOT reimburse expenses incurred related to your
professional placement outside of the included budget.

6. Arrangements for leave time: You are requested to notify your designated line-manager within
Bridges when you wish to take time away from your volunteer work with Bridges.

7. Supervision: Please arrange regular meetings with your line manager in Bridges.
8. Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct: All volunteers are expected to comply with the
Bridges Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct. Failure to do so could result in disciplinary
action or an end to this volunteer arrangement.
9. Arrangements if there are problems: In the event that there is a problem with either your
conduct or your ability to carry out your responsibilities, your line manager will discuss the
issue(s) with you with the intention of resolving the problem, in conjunction with Bridges.
10. Arrangements if you have a complaint or a conflict: If there is any conflict in your assignment or
if you have a complaint, you should first speak to your line manager. If your line manager does
not resolve the issue(s) then you can approach the Bridges Operations Director or Field Director.
11. Donations: All donations to Bridges are subject to the control and discretion of the Board of
Directors of Bridges. This statement must be included in all requests for funds: “This
contribution is solicited with the understanding that the Board of Directors of Bridges has
complete control and discretion over the use of all donated funds.”
12. Review: There should be a review at the end of 3 months of your placement. Please arrange
with your line manager to conduct this review.
13. Reporting To Bridges: The volunteer will provide a short written update each month to Bridges
summarizing the activities of the project where the volunteer is assigned.
14. Ending this arrangement: If either the volunteer or Bridges wishes to end this arrangement, the
following notice should be given:
Within the first month: 1 week
After the first month: 30 days
If the arrangement is ended, all funds received for the Volunteer’s placement will remain with
Bridges and will be used to support the work of Bridges. Exceptions are subject to review by the
Board of Directors of Bridges.
I hereby accept the conditions of service as a volunteer with Bridges in this document.
