Please note: ALL 3.30 – 4.30pm after school clubs are now chargeable at £3.50 per club with payment to be
made to St Matthew’s CE Academy. * With the exception of the Thursday French Clubs with payments to Miss
Fanion. The school clubs are included in the price for those who are using the before and after school care.
THE SCHOOL GATE WILL BE LOCKED AFTER THE 4.30PM. WHEN COLLECTING YOUR CHILDREN AFTER
THIS TIME, PLEASE USE THE FRONT MAIN ENTRANCE.
SUMMER FARE
On Saturday 27th June we will be holding our annual Summer Fare at St Francis Church
between 10.00am and 12.00pm. We welcome donations of bric-a-brac, toys etc for the sale.
Friday 26th June donations of shop bought cakes can be bought in school. Please come and
join us and help raise money for school resources.
On Friday 19th June we will be holding a non-uniform day in exchange for bottles for our tombola, sweets in
jars, sweets, new stationary, etc.
BALL GAMES
Would parents please ensure that after the children are dismissed from school at the end of the day, that they do not
play ball games in the playground, as there is a risk of other parents or younger children getting hit.
ABSENCE
If your child is going to be late or absent from school, please telephone the school BEFORE 9.30am at the
latest. If a telephone call is not received by this time, unfortunately the absence will be recorded as
unauthorised.
PARENT LUNCHES
From W/c 20th April we would like to invite parents/grandparents/carers from different classes to join us
for lunch on our Wednesday Roast Day. The meal will need to be ordered and will cost £3.00. If you
would like to attend please request a menu from Mrs Wilson. For week commencing 22nd June it will
be the parents/grandparents/carers from CLASS 2. Anyone who would like to join us for lunch should be at
school for around 11.55 am.

SCHOOL SPORTS DAY
Weather permitting, we will be holding our school sports day at St Francis Church on Tuesday
23rd June. The children will need to be dropped off at St Francis, no earlier than 8.45am, in
tracksuits and with a water bottle. The children will need to bring a packed lunch or can have a
school packed lunch which will need to be ordered in the usual way. If the weather is going to
be sunny (fingers crossed) the children will need to bring hats and will need to have had all day sun cream
applied before school. Parents/grandparents/carers are welcome to join us from 1.00pm where we will have
tea/coffee and cake available for a small donation. If the weather forecast is not good we will assess on the
morning and send a text out to parents by 8.00am. Please ensure the school has your correct mobile
numbers.
SUMMER BOOK SALE
Monday 15th June will be the last day of the book sale. At the end of the sale, if we sell more
than £300 worth of books, the school will get 100% commission. This means more books for
our library.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
The before and after school club started on Monday 1st June. We are open from 7.15am for breakfast, and
after school until 5.30pm each day. We have now registered with: Fideliti, Edenred, Computershare and
Kiddivouchers, if you receive your vouchers from elsewhere please contact the school and we will do our
best to accommodate you.
