Peter Hills Post Friday 9th October 2015 www.peterhillsschool.co.uk Introducing our six new Christian Values: Friendship, Respect, Thankfulness, Peace Courage, Trust Congratulations to these pupils who read many books between them for the Southwark Library Summer Reading Challenge. We had more pupils than ever making the most of our wonderful local libraries. Respect this week: Jade, Xin, Chantal, Lottie, Fraizer, Evie, Kareem, Nicholas, Halle, Belle, Teddy, Maisie. Are you reading at home? Please remember to hear your child read every day, including weekends and holidays. The expectation is children will still read at home every day in half term and parents/carers sign the reading diary. Remember this is part of the home/school agreement that you have signed and a vital skill for life for your child to have. Don’t forget to join a local library if you haven’t already. We are lucky to have such a great resource at Canada Water which is also free! Attendance Matters A reminder for parents and carers that if your child can not come to school you must let us know in advance and before 9am registration on the day. If this is a planned absence such as a medical assessment or visit to a secondary school documentation should be brought to school ahead of the day of absence. If you leave a message on the answer machine this helps us to account for every missing child but is not enough to secure a valid reason for absence. On return to school you must follow up all absences in writing. This documentation will be kept against the absence mark. To secure authorized absences please follow our policy as absences with no written evidence can and in most cases will be classed as unauthorised.
