Application Process for ARC Linkage Projects – LP15 A. Preparation 1. 2. 3. 4. CI’s read the Linkage Projects Funding Rules and the Instructions to Applicants, and note any changes to the relevant Funding Rules from previous years. Lead Chief Investigator (CI) submits an Expression of Intent (EoI) to the RSO by the due date. Where possible, intending researcher/s attends the RSO organised ARC Grant Writing Workshop. Lead CI ensures that they are clear about the requirements for eligibility and Partner contributions to Linkage Projects Medical Research - The Linkage Projects scheme does not support Medical Research. Partner Org contributions: combined Partner Organisation(s) contributions for a Proposal (i.e. the total of the cash and/or in-kind eligible contributions of the Partner Organisations) must at least match the total funding requested from the ARC. combined Partner Organisation(s) eligible Cash Contribution must be at least 25 per cent of the total funding requested from the ARC ARC Application Management System (RMS2.0) 5. 6. 7. Each CI and Partner Investigator (PI) obtains access to RMS 2.0 and updates their profile information. Please note that RMS has been updated. The current version is RMS2.0 – a guide to using RMS2.0 can be found here. o Applicants use their email address to login o Applicants complete and / or update their RMS Profile / details. It is researchers’ responsibility to maintain their RMS personal Profile . CI’s complete the draft application in RMS. All sections must be completed. B. Compliance Review 4 weeks before the ARC due date: 8. Lead CI generates a pdf of the draft Application in RMS, and emails it to the Research Services Office (arc@flinders.edu.au) by the due date, with a request for compliance review. See the summary below of the Application elements which should be included for compliance review. A Complete Draft Application will include the following elements: RMS Profile for all personnel completed Section A – Administrative Summary o A1 –Title o A2 - all Participants added and accepted o A3 – all relevant Organisations added o A4 Proposal Summary o A5 Impact Statement Section B – Classifications/Statistical Information Section C o C1 Complete Research Environment, Partner Organisation Commitment & Collaboration and Role of Personnel sections. o The completed draft may exclude the Aims & Background, Significance & Innovation, Approach and Training and References sections. o C2 - Medical and Dental Research response and Statement if required 9. 10. 11. Section D - Partner Organisation Details – complete all and add draft of Partner Support letter Section E – Project Cost Section F – Budget Justification Section G – Personnel Section H – Research Support Section I – Statements on Progress of ARC-funded Projects Where the CI submits a Complete Draft Application by the due date, RSO Grants Officer will review the application and email the lead CI with a compliance report using a full compliance checklist. Where the CI submits an incomplete draft application after the due date, full compliance review will only be provided where time allows. CIs complete the application, addressing feedback from RSO, Faculty, colleagues, etc. C. Application Submission Three (3) working days prior to the external due date: 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. CI sends all required Written Evidence Forms (signed) to RSO LP15 Written Evidence form - CI PI (DOCX 34KB) and LP15 Written Evidence form - Orgs (DOCX 34KB) by the internal Final Application due date (15 October 2014). Lead CI completes and circulates the Flinders Certification Form for signature so that it is received in the RSO prior to Final Application due date. When the lead CI is ready to submit the proposal to the Research Services Office, please return to the Action Centre home page in RMS 2.0 and click on ‘Submit to Research Office’, by the Internal Final Application due date (3 working days prior to the external due date). RSO submits the application to the ARC in RMS before the external deadline.
