GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Tennessee is proposing to turn around the
lowest achieving schools in the state through the Achievement School
District. This is a groundbreaking approach that will capitalize on the
newly created authority of the Commissioner of the Education
through the Tennessee First to the Top Act, best practices research on
successful school turnaround, and unprecedented partnerships with
nonprofit organizations.. These positions offer you the opportunity to
become part of the founding leadership team of educational professionals who
will play key roles in designing, building and leading this exciting initiative.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and creative person to analyze,
interpret, and present data to inform policy and strategy development across the
District. A key aspect of the role will be supporting the District's work to raise
student achievement through analysis of school and student achievement data
and identification of trends and needs. The position will also involve coordination
of the research strategy for the program and supporting its information systems.
Provide specific data analysis and produce reports
tailored for existing projects and emerging initiatives; Provide training and
tailored support for new and existing members of the program; Work in
partnership with Leadership to facilitate data solutions to support the whole
network; Support the commissioning of external research in order to evaluate
the effectiveness of the program; Provide management information to assist the
program staff to monitor performance against key performance indicators;
Analyze and interpret school performance data, identifying and exploring
hypotheses as necessary; Undertake research as required in specific areas to
support the work; Identify progress being made by schools across the entire
network.; Monitor a variety of different research projects to support policy and
strategic development; Provide ad hoc queries and reports to support the work
of the program; Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate level or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work effectively as part of a team
as well as on own initiative; Experience working successfully and flexibly in a
changing organization; Experience working within educational settings
