Transportation:
We have had a number of late buses in the morning and the afternoon due to the construction on
23 near 270. We will continue to monitor the situation. Our transportation department is
working on solutions. If we continue to see the challenges through next Friday, we will look at
the possibility of changing our bell schedule to help with this challenge.
In the meantime, please note (and share with your student) that we will never mark students late
for late buses and that students will always be given additional time to eat breakfast when a bus is
late. Thank you for your patience with this!
PTA Update:
Worthingway Card Parents!
The Worthingway PTA would like to give a big THANK YOU to all of you that gave a direct
donation, joined the PTA or, signed up to volunteer this school year. Thank you to our volunteers
as well! We will be contacting you once we establish the chairperson associated with each
activity.
Worthingway is also going to begin hosting a concession stand near our field. We are in need of
a refrigerator. If someone has one or knows of someone who would like to donate a refrigerator
(Taxable donation), please contact the PTA at wwaypta@gmail.com or call 614/506-3273 . We
are also in need of an immediate Chairperson to head up the Concession stand, let us know if you
are interested in filling this chair.
Please join us for first PTA Meeting on Tuesday Aug 26th at 6:00pm in the school Library.

Worthingway PTA is participating in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Once

Kroger. By signing up, you do not lose any personal benefits or savings.

Open House:
Open House will be held on Monday, August 25th from 7:30-9pm. We ask all families to
meet in the school cafeteria to hear a brief presentation from your student’s social studies,
math, language arts, and science teachers. Families will then have the opportunity to
meet with individual departments in their classrooms. Due to space limitations, we ask
that only parents/guardians only attend these sessions.
A note from your Spanish teachers:
Spanish classes are off to a great start! Students should already be doing some practicing
(1a) or reviewing (1b) at home. Students were given the state mandated SLO assessment
this week. Ms. Fellows and Ms. Newcomb collaborated to come up with a great new
format that produces qualitative data in addition to quantitative scores. Those scores will
not be shared through Infinite Campus as they are merely a snapshot of where each
student's knowledge is right now. We will use the information we gathered to shape our
classes, interventions and extensions. :-) Hope to see you all at Open House on

Lunch Accounts:
Parents please remember to turn in all free and reduced lunch paperwork at the beginning
of each new school year. Also, please check balances in your student’s lunch account
regularly. This can be done by using www.mypaymentsplus.com.
