2. BACKGROUND
Workforce Education and Training Group (WETG) is a sub-group of the ACI Renal Network. It
provides the Renal Network with policy, initiatives and strategies to address the need to develop
workforce capacity, in order to meet increasing demand for renal services over the next 10 years.
3. PURPOSE
The aim of the WETG is to develop strategies to facilitate continuing access to medical, nursing
and allied health professionals, for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease - with the
expectation that current levels of service provision are maintained or improved over the next 10
years.
4. RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS
The NSW Renal Network’s Workforce, Education and Training Group has the following
responsibilities:
1.
To develop strategies to improve recruitment and retention across the range of disciplines in
the renal workforce.
2.
To act as a catalyst to implement the strategies.
3.
To seek funding for the strategies.
5. FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS
Two yearly – planning meeting.
