We would like to tell you about our school events, holidays, trips, competitions, achievements, students, teachers and what not. You can help us to make our newspaper more interesting with your new ideas, information, pictures. We are open to everybody! Soon we will celebrate our favourite holidays: New Year and Christmas. Let this coming year be better than all the others. Let’s do the things you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time. HAPPY NEW YEAR and MERRY CHRISTMAS! And do the things You know you should? So we are opening this page with the interview with the « Hostess of our home» our principal Olga Gennadyevna. Salma: Olga Gennadyevna, we have decided to publish a school newspaper. O.G.: It’s a wonderful idea. Can I help you? S. Could you answer some questions? O.G.: Why not? With great pleasure! S. Where did you study? O.G.: My father was a military man, so I began studying in Germany, where I spent 8 years. S.: What were your favourite subjects? O.G.: I liked to study and my favourite subjects were Literature and English. S.: Who were your favourite teachers? O.G.: I often remember my English teacher Olga Grigorievna. She was our tuitor. We loved her and she loved us. She was a personality. S.: Did you have many friends? O.G.: Yes, our class was very friendly. I lived opposite school and after studies we often went to my home. S.: And what did you do after school? O.G.: Oh, we liked to eat everything from my fridge, listened to the Beatles, Bee Gee. S.: And what is the most difficult in your job now? O.G.: I think, when I want to do something for our school, but there are some obstacles which I can’t overcome. S.: We would like to thank you for our new, beautiful school. It has become so cozy, nice. We are sure it was very difficult to repair it! O.G. I hope our school will become better and better, but you must help us to keep it clean and beautiful. S. Celebration of New Year in France, Germany and Italy Le nouvel an ou le jour de la Saint – Sylvestre est une fête qui vient de l’Europe occidentale et qu’on célèbre à la veille de la nouvelle année, c’est à dire le 31 décembre . Le réveillon de la Saint – Sylvestre est le début d’une nuit éternisée et infinie, emplie de joie et de miracle. Le réveillon de la Saint – Sylvestre est célébré entre amis.Pourquoi la Saint – Sylvestre?Il est à remarquer que le saint célébré ce jour-là, le 31 décembre n’est pas lié à la fête du Nouvel An, c’est juste une coïncidence du calendrier grégorien. Sylvestre, 33 pape d’origine romane, a occupé le trône de Saint-Pierre 22 ans. Ce temps-là le christianisme a été reconnu comme religion officielle de L’Empire romain.Le Nouvel An commence par le réveillon riche de mets variés et luxueux, car le dîner somptueux est de bonne augure pour la nouvelle année et la met sous le signe de la prospérité Das ist das wichtigste Familien- und Kirchenfest in Deutschland. Der Weihnachtsbaum wurde in Deutschland erst vor hundert Jahren populär als Symbol des Lebensbaums. Man schmückte ihn zuerst mit Kerzen und Äpfeln. Unter den Weihnachtsbaum legt man auch schön verpackte Geschenke für die ganze Familie. Man zündet die Kerzen an und singt Weihnachtslieder. Weihnachten ist der größte "Schenk-Tag". Auch ein Nussknacker ist ein absolutes Muss beim Weihnachten, er wird aus Holz gebastelt und rot, schwarz und gelb bemalt. Fast alle Familien stellen außer dem Weihnachtsbaum noch ein Figurenkarussell auf, das aus einer Achse mit einer Nadel und einigen "Etagen" besteht. Auf jeder Etage befinden sich Figuren der Engel, Hirten und Lämmer. Und das Karussell dreht sich, weil es von der heißen Luft angetrieben wird, welche von vier brennenden Kerzen kommt. Große Karusselle werden elektrisch angetrieben. Zu Weihnachten gibt es Lebkuchen, Spekulatius, Plätzchen, Stollen und natürlich eine Weihnachtsgans. Celebration of New Year Eve in Italy. All over Italy you’ll find outdoor celebrations of the New Year’s Eve with music and dancing. Big cities such as Rome and Bologna hold outdoor concerts and events which are shown on TV all over the country. Italians celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the New Year’s Day with fantastic fireworks as well. An old tradition which is still practiced in many regions of Italy is to throw old things out of the windows. They throw away pots, pans and clothes out of the window to let go the past and move toward the future. So, keep your eyes up! Traditionally Italians celebrate New Year’s Eve with special dinner which includes: Risotto in bianco (white risotto), Lentils (symbolizing wealth and fortune), Cotechino (pork sausage), Raisins (for good luck). Advertising/ Where to go during winter holidays? RINK IN THE GORKY PARK Ice skating rink in the Gorky Park is the largest ice rink in Moscow. In the evening, there are lighted Christmas garlands and the big Christmas tree in the center of the rink. On this rink you can celebrate New Year`s Eve. Here you may have not only good skating and get the New Year`s mood but you can sit in a cozy cafe to eat and drink a cup of hot tea. I think, you will remember this New Year`s Eve for many years. CHRISTMAS FAIR Christmas Fair is one of the most popular places in Moscow. On the New Year`s Fair, you can taste different sweets, take part in funny competitions and ride on an ice hill. Also, you can buy gifts for the New Year. Christmas decoration and beautiful music create a pleasant atmosphere. New Year`s Eve at this Fair will be very funny and unusual.
