If you keep reading you’ll learn about the Horses of Assateague Island. The Wild Horses of Assateague Island walk through the shallow narrow end of the channel and they get sold off to people. The horses go out into the water to go see the people and then they swim back into the water and then they go back to their island and do their business. The humans help the horses as much as they can, but sometimes the horses that are sick or weak don’t survive so the people can’t help them. Sometimes you don’t know how wild the horses could be and they swim at slack tide.
