Osservatorio EMGM – Dipartimento Jonico Uniba Conferenza Annuale Annual Conference The Mediterranean and the Great War Call for Papers: dead line March 15th, 2015 the Observatory on "Europe and the Mediterranean between the two world wars. The Holocaust and the Cold War "(EMGM Observatory) is organizing an international conference on "the Mediterranean and the Great War" to be held on May 24th 2015, in Taranto (Italy), at the headquarters of the Jonic Department of legal and economic systems of the Mediterranean: society, environment, culture of the University of Bari Aldo Moro. The invitation to attend is open to professors, researchers and scholars of the history of law, history of institutions, contemporary history, from Italian and foreign universities. The theme of the conference will revolve around the focus of the Great War and the different legal experiences of the Mediterranean countries. Interventions that focus on the following issues will be favored: - The war policies implemented by the governments involved in the conflict; - Military reforms undertaken by the countries involved in the conflict; - International relations between the Mediterranean countries; - Military justice and justice of exception - Cultures, rights and religions - Government intervention related to inheritance law and family law - Labour and social security reforms, - Commercial Law policies - Reforms in the area of finances and taxes. Scholars interested have to send within 15th March 2015 at 12.00am, an abstract in Italian and English of maximum 200 words, accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae in Italian and English at the following email: osservatorioemgm@gmail.com General Information • Please attach your CV in separate files and author’s contact. • Abstracts should be sent in Italian and English and have a maximum of 200 words. • It is allowed a single abstract for each author. • Abstracts will be examined by the Observatory on the wars within 30th March 2015. The authors who have submitted an abstract deemed suitable to be included in the conference program will receive an email notification by April 1st . • There are no refunds for travel and residence expenses of scholars attending the conference. • The reports should be kept into Italian or Spanish. For those who want to keep the report in Spanish, will have to send the text of the report at least 15 days before the date of the conference, to enable the simultaneous translation. Terms and Conditions Presenting an abstract all the authors agree to the following terms and conditions: • Implied confirmation that each author has given consent to be listed in the conference program • Confirmation of the information accurancy contained in the abstract. • Implicit consent given to Observatory for the publication on the website http://www.uniba.it/siti/iusregni of the authors CV, papers and e-mail address. • The terms for the collection of contributions for the publication of the conference papers will follow the conference and will be communicated to participants within May 24th, 2015. • Scholars unable to attend the conference, with abstracts accepted and regularly enrolled at the Conference, will be able to send their contributions for the publication of the conference papers.
